I can't recommend this homestay enough. The rooms were beautiful with great air con and a lovely bathroom. It was so nice to spend time just sitting outside watching life on and off the river pass us by. We also got a houseboat for the day and then a canoe type boat trip the next day to go amongst the smaller waterways - George organised both for us and we had a really brilliant time. If you have the opportunity to also have lunch and/or dinner there we can't recommend it more. The food that Bindu makes for breakfast or any other meal is definitely some of the very best we had in India (if not ever!). The kindness of the whole family means you couldn't feel more welcome and we were sad to leave. A perfect little haven for a relaxing break! (By the way you have to get a little boat - that goes back and forth all day - to get to the other side where the homestay is. We gave the number to the taxi driver for directions who took us from Alleppey to the homestay, which worked well.)

We spent two days at this delightful homestay. The property is beautiful. Bedrooms are converted rice stores with polished dark wood, red lacquered floors and a wonderful ancient (but very tricky) brass lock on the door. The en-suite bathroom has an outside shower (with hot water). Both rooms have a verandah area where you can sit and watch the world float by on the river. George and Bindu are charming and welcoming hosts. Bindu is an amazing cook and the food was truly delicious. I only wish Id had time to have some lessons from her. The homestay is in a great setting on the waterfront with paddy fields around the back. We took a private boat trip around the backwaters and also took the public ferry to Alleppey which is a lovely trip and takes about an hour. So glad we stayed here rather than a rice boat.

Great location on the backwaters, where you take can a ferry to the other side as well. Lovely room, lovely outside shower with warm water. The food was amazing and Bindra served up the best chicken curry I have ever eaten. All the food was lovely, and they were welcoming and kind without being over bearing, and helped arrange a tuc tuc the next day for our onward journey. Really pleased I stayed here and would definitely recommend a stay in a beautiful part of the world where I could sit in the front and watch the world go by.

We stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. The warm welcome and care that George and Bindu took to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed was amazing. The food was incredible, different local dishes were brought out for every meal and enjoyed by adults and children alike. We also enjoyed some great experiences such as kayaking through the smaller water channels, sunset walks through the paddy fields (while the rice harvest was on), boat trip to Alleppey for shopping and a motorised boat tour of the Backwaters. Just sitting out on the porch area watching the activity on the river was engaging and interesting. Its a special place with a unique way of life. Thanks George, Bindu, Alex and the rest of the family.

We stayed here for 1 night and wished we had booked more. Bindu & George made us feel so welcome. They had arranged a boat for us to explore the smaller back bywaters which was amazing. Bindu's food was fantastic and was presented well. Thank you again for making our holiday so special.
