Vallikad Homestay was beyond our expectations! The house and hosts are so nice! It was clean, fantastic breakfast, best location and especially good host that helps you with everything and knows all about good restaurants and what to do and see in Allappuzha (Alleppey). If in Allappuzha, stay here!

Great place to stay and linger. A quiet fishing village comfortable located between interesting places yet away from the regular beach crowd. Great host. Danny makes sure that you are super comfortable and treats you with great local cuisine. She helped us a lot with her suggestions and every time you step out, she hands out this handwritten list of places we could visit and contacts if we get lost. Who does that nowadays? We also felt really nice when she generously filled our empty evenings with great conversations. Stay here if you want a quiet time and great hospitality. Things you should do when in Vallikad Homestay: 1. Eat local food 2. Go and talk a walk around the village. People are super nice and friendly. 3. Do take an auto if you are going to Fort Kochi from Alleppy, you will never regret the one and half hour journey. 4. Visit Marari Beach Things to take care: 1. Don't forget to pack sunscreen as always 2. Umbrella is must 4. Vallikad Homestay doesn't provide toiletries unless requested so pack your favourites 5. Avoid the fishermen beach which is just meters away early in the morning otherwise you will surprised or probably faint :P

Vallikad is a true homestay, a little off the beaten track. Located in an authentic fishing village just up the coast from Allppuzha town, it has the luxury of AC in all rooms and a small swimming pool in the beautifully planted garden. From the large first floor balcony you have lovely views across the village to the Arabian Sea. Vallikad is currently under new management, but Daniela and Raji are doing a great job. Highly recommended.

Vallikad Homestay is a little gem, close to the arabian sea not far from Alappuzha town. It has a small, very well cared garden with lots of flowers, birds and a little swimming pool. Never in my life i saw so much butterflies like i saw here in the garden. Rooms are very clean, as the whole house is very well cared and the guest rooms are situated with a big veranda where you can relax and enjoy the view into the garden and even the sea. The food is awesome home cooked "malayalee food", lots of fresh vegetables from the region and sometimes even fresh fish from the sea. Guestrooms have a fan and even AC. Close to the homestay is a little river flowing which makes a small lagoon on the sea side. You can enjoy nature, the kingfishers and other birds, often in morning even dolphins swim along the coast. It's pleasant to stay here, being cared by the young couple leading the homestay. If you want to have sightseeing or you plan some trips, they will help you to find the best way to enjoy it. I can recommend this homestay for everybody who wants to relax and enjoy Kerala's nature and culture, you will feel well cared, welcomed and at home.

We're a 75 yr old couple from Australia, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, using it as a base between day trips to Fort Kochi and on Allepey waterways, and a memorable 5-day tour taking in Trivandrum, Thekkady and Munnar with car and driver. All arranged by Moni as well as our onward rail travel. Excellent value for money, and all arrangements worked like clockwork. Ian Croft
