You will get ONE room in a 3BHK villa out of such 2 available villas so limited privacy. Breakfast with less options, NO kitchen, tap water for drinking, NO TV, NO intercom, NO lunch/dinner, tea (might be available on "Request" but you wouldn't like to place one with treatment you will get). All in all, one will get typical tenant-landlady kind of dealing with lots of DOs & DONTs and most of the unavailable but essential services will be justified with "Its a home-stay NOT hotel..!!" replies. I fall prey to the good reviews available on internet (not sure how come its there). Few positives are villa design is good and clean.

Travelling with a group of 11 friends. Before our arrival I bombarded Nair (col. retired) with requests and thoughts on some of our ideas for a programme. He was very patient and really did assist in making plans. He also made bookings on our behalf for many attractions we wanted to experience including paddling on the backwaters, an overnight houseboat, a visit to an elephant sanctuary and a massage which was enjoyed by most. We requested lunch & dinner which was brought in and was delicious as well as nicely presented on banana leaves. Some of the group enjoyed a walk in the paddy fields where local birds were seen and identified by Nair. Breakfast was a delight served by smiling staff and explained by Nair. The home stay is modern and in a good quiet location. Banks/Atm,s are nearby as are Tuk Tuks for hire. all in all a great and memorable visit.

Our stay at Varick Villa Homestay was one of the jewels in the crown of our 3 week trip to India! This was a delightful venue comprised of two villas each with three double bedrooms and located in a quiet, residential setting within a well maintained, gated garden compound owned by a retired Indian colonel, who lived on the property and who spoke excellent English. We were a party of 11 travelling by coach although there is a train service from Bangalore. Most of the rooms had air conditioning and all had a ceiling fan. Each villa had a kitchen, dining and lounge areas. The upstairs bedrooms opened on a landing and balcony overlooking the garden. Breakfast was prepared and served to our requirements. The colonel also provided an evening meal if required. The colonel arranged a full programme of activities, which included an early morning walk through the local paddy fields, on which he personally accompanied us, yoga sessions, a massage, a visit to an elephant sanctuary & museum, a full day trip along the canals and backwaters and an overnight houseboat trip through what is rightly known as the Venice of India. A truly unforgettable adventure!

Quite and Quaint, just the two things I was looking for! Away from the main road, the Villa is not disturbed by the traffic. A perfect place to relax and rejuvenate - the morning walk in the paddy fields with the Colonel is the best way to start your day! Get back to Nature at the same time have the access to modern amenities in the Villa. Would love to go back again to de-clutter my brain from the city life!

Quiet and relaxing stay on the outskirts of Alappuzha. Spacious and clean rooms in a recently built villa with a terrace surrounded by bird life. Amiable hosts, serving a good breakfast in their home. Don't miss going on a walk with the Colonel through small roads in the paddy fieds at dawn, a great start of the day.
