Stayed here for a 2 day short trip to almora. location is great no issues with it. market is walking distance. rooms are big and spacious. view from the window and backyard is breathtaking. the building is old and beautiful, which adds to the charm of the place. the best thing is that you get home cooked food. we were served some mouth watering chicken curry on order. hospitality no less than a 5 star hotel. the staff and the owner make sure that you have a comfortable stay, just like a family member. enough space for parking and kids to play. in case you are visiting almora you can stay here without a second thought.

The rooms are beautiful and big but very cold in winter. We had a little heater that did not manage to heat the room. But except for that, mountain view from the windows of the hotel and therrace is divine, food is homemade and fantastic and the staff was extremely friendly and hospitable.

if you wanna enjoy the beauty of mountains of kumauon without a doubt should avoid almora as there is nothing at all. as for the hotel khazanchand mansion its an old mansion but is in a very bad shape the rooms are mighty large but very poorly kept there is no proper heating in the rooms, bathrooms are dingy and has no proper hot water when needed, though the staff and owner are very curtious. there is no sign board of the hotel on main road. hotel is almost some 40 feets down the road and to get down there is a big task. but then its the only hotel to stay if at all one has to go to almora.

We stayed overnight in October and had an enormous room upstairs with wooden floors and simple but more than adequate facilities. We felt it had loads of atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming. It is set down from the road and was very peaceful although I suspect it could be noisy if the building was full of local Tourists. We ate dinner there, we was asked beforehand about preferences and the food was very good. There is off road parking and spectacular views from the building and garden. We would certainly stop there again if passing through in the future.
