What's Good: The garden and the bar
Reason For Rating : Tranquil hotel in the middle of busy Amritsar. Great value for money - room was nice and clean and overlooked a beautiful garden. We enjoyed relaxing with a beer in the beer garden and felt very well looked after by the staff.

What's Good: Location is very near to station. But cost of Food was High. We have booked 2 DB Room for 4 days with 1 Extra Person Charge. But at last moment that extra person could not go due to serious family problem. So we applied to the Hotel for the refund of that extra person charge. But Hotel Authority denied to return the money back to us. This is not at all acceptable.

What's Good: Only USP is its proximity to Railway station. Apart from this the Rooms & overall facility doesn't even deserve 2 stars. Not worth it at all.

We booked this because we like old properties. Aware the reviews were mixed. The manager is an interesting character that talks in double negatives. Showed us 3 rooms. 3 different prices. Dark, dank and like a mausoleum. We felt freezing. Offered us a fire and kettle that would cost more than room. Asked for extra duvet and when It arrived had been eaten by some infestation. Full of holes. We were extremely tired and didn't notice the extreme dust on leaves in garden at first until the buliding noise started up. Drills and hammering above our heads. Manager said it was only from 0900-5.00!!!! What's not to like? Don't know how long this will take but the whole of top floor is under construction so my advice to you is unless you are happy to stay in this type of environment then give this place a wide berth. Such a shame as it could be wonderful. I have a feeling that the building work will be on going for a very long time.

Stayed for business at the grand hotel.location was perfect as it took 2 minutes to reach the hotel from the railway station. Best way to come is from platform no 1 exit and come out from the entrance to the station. Enjoyed the courtyard and a nice garden inside the hotel. Staff assisted in getting me a taxi for sightseeing for Rs 1800,which included: golden temple, jallianwalla bagh, fort and Wagah border. Coming back had north Indian food which was good.best was the environment and the peacefulness.

Visited with friends to grand hotel. Best part is its location. Very convenient for people travelling by train. When you're inside it reminds you a historical old haveli. These days in hotel you will not find a garden as it's become all commercial where nobody likes to waste any space.here the best part is the facility to enjoy the openness and a peaceful environment. Rooms were nice and you could see the garden, and enjoy your tea. Enjoyed the facilities of getting a taxi to the border. Staff was nice and helpful. Will certainly visit again.

My room (including bathroom) at this hotel was absolutely filthy as was the bedding (stained) which had clearly not been changed. Wi-fi in the rooms, whilst promised, was not available for the entirety of my 4 night stay at this property. Compounding the disappointment at the lack of service promised and considerable inconvenience this caused was the attitude of the staff and manager. I was constantly fobbed off by the manager that he was rectifying the situation / that he was unable to rectify the situation as a result of Diwali / that he couldn't do anything about the situation (even after Diwali). He told me that if I had an emergency I could connect to the wi-fi whilst standing at reception! At no point did he provide any updates to me and I was forced to constantly chase for these. The standard of cleanliness, facilities and service at this hotel are absolutely appalling. Whilst hot water was available it exited the shower head at a dribble. The toilet flush was so weak that it flushed nothing away - absolutely disgusting! The brick work interior walls were full of cobwebs. The hotel was so poorly maintained that I feared using the ceiling fan which was positioned above the bed in case it fell. I also saw rats in both the bar/restaurant area and the garden

Hotels location is good. Convenient for tourists travelling by train. It just takes a few minutes to reach the hotel from the station. Room was nice and facing the garden. It had a nice sit out and was peaceful and quiet. The hotel was undergoing for renovation.staff was helpful and Arranged a taxi to the border at a reasonable price. Overall it was a good experience and the hotel is good.
