We stayed in the budget non-AC rooms at the back of the property- but didn't need AC as it was cool at night. Our room was very simple but spacious and comfortable. Hot shower worked fine. Room serviced every day with clean towels and two water bottles. Our main issue, which was not the hotel's fault , was the noise from the school groups disco in the hotel behind and other noisy Indian guests. The grounds are lovely and well tended, and location is brilliant-50 m from the entrance to Ellora Caves. Food at the restaurant was fine if a little overpriced, but a nice place to eat. Restaurant staff needed experience as they often confused orders. Management were super friendly and helpful. Although our room was probably over priced for what we got, the Hotel Kailas has NO real competition, and it's location and ambience make it worth while. Certainly, we enjoyed our stay.

Our room was very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Being located so close to the Ellora Caves was great as we managed to go in the mornings before the hordes of tourists arrived. The proprietress, Mrs Shah, was very friendly and recommended a great driver, Suresh, for us. His rates were very reasonable and he was a safe driver who looked after us well.

The strongest point of this hotel is its location. It is 600m from Grishneshwar Temple and around 200 m from Ellora Caves. The rooms are like individual cottages, each has its own garden, seating area, etc. Rooms are big with all basic amenities including clean linen. Bathroom is also spacious with clean towels. There is provision for hot water in shower. They do not have intercom but they do provide a number in case you need anything in the room itself. The place is family friendly and the better rooms are the one facing the caves. Service is very good here, the staff is very attentive here and tries very hard to fulfill your need however, they need a little training to appear professional as they tend to avoid foreigners as they are probably weak in understanding english. A little training on soft skills will take this hotel to new heights. Food is good unless you ask for customization as per your taste. It you don't instruct them anything specific they will serve something that is very spicy (which is the normal taste there). So do instruct them if you are don't want any thing spicy. They have very big parking space, the people there are very friendly you can ask questions about the places nearby, timings, dress code etc. They will be more than happy to tell you. As far as my next trip goes it will be surely in hotel Kailas. One more thing, there is another hotel in the area by name Elloara Heritage. Never ever visit that place as they have extremely poor service and worse location than this hotel.

Terrible place charging a bomb for substandard facilities. UNFORTUNTATELY we have no other good hotel in Ellora. This place is 100m from Ellora and 500m from Grishneshwar temple. No other decent place. (Heritage Hotel is undergoing renovation and has an equally poor reputation.) Luckily the bed was acceptably clean in the most expensive accomodation they had -the A.C. cottage. We rented two of them to boot. Hot water apparently is only from the shower which trickles. But it was never hot until a lot of water got wasted Had to get them to bring hot water for bath in one cottage Even the flush in the toilet did not flush away all the waste There is No phone in room. They asked us to use our mobile to call them if needed. Mobile network is poor and only Vodafone and BSNL works ! LOL. Even aIrcon remote in one cottage had an issue . In the other cottage the a.c. did not work. So why did I pay for AC room :( But one saving grace was that all the staff were very courteous and tried their utmost to help. One of them came to address the hot water issue and fix the flush at 11pm.. after I literally woke them up. Luckily my cottage was close to the office area. One staff lent HIS mobile to my aged parents as ours did not work. They gave a couple of hours of extended checkout albeit as a great favour. Some insects came into one cottage but that is to be expected for the type of surroundings For food, I suggest that vegetarians go to the Vrindavan Resorts restaurant about 100M away. The food is much better. (I wonder how good/poor the other lower cost accomodation would be.)

Hotel is just opposite ellora caves. Nice place. Good food, value for money. We stayed at cave facing Cottage. Rooms were clean. There were monkeys on the property. We could also saw different birds. Friendly and helpful manager. Had a comfortable stay.
