The hotel is owned and run by a friendly and educated woman, whose husband was familiar with European needs and standards. We had cave facing cottages, equipped with all you need except for a hook in the ceiling to hang the mosquito net. Indian travellers seem to prefer chemical repellents us Europeans are reluctant to inhale. The rooms were clean, the beds sufficiently comfortable. The restaurant did not meet our expectations - but opposite is a lovely restaurant where we had many meals and another one is down the road towards the entrance of the site. The hotel's location allows you to visit the caves early in the morning and at dusk - before and after the busses arrive. Vishwakarma Dada Hindu Temple is within walking distance. All was fine, until an American School class, a bunch of brats invaded the place. Impolite, extremely loud they turned the place into a party camp at night and the staff would not do anything about it ... apart from that, I can recommend this place to everybody visiting the caves.

We stayed at the Kailas Hotel with a magnificent view of the Ellora Cave Temples for four nights and were throughly content with our stay! We upgraded our room to have a mountain view of the Temples which was 100% worth the 500 additional rupees! Our room and patio were QUIET and very private! All of the staff was welcoming and we particularly found the waiters helpful and friendly. We ate two meals a day at the restaurant and they were all delicious and we felt very healthy there! Our WiFi needs were accommodated and never a problem. Hot showers were wonderful! It was a convenient location for a long-day trip to and from the Ajanta Temples Highly recommend this hotel!

We had gone to see Ellora caves and it's very ideally situated. Good cooking, breakfast was a little delayed in serving but lunch service was fast. They can improve upon washrooms. The lawn in the rear is good, my grandson really enjoyed the place.

The unique point of this hotel is: Location!Location!Location. I guess anyone who wants quality time would be seriously considering this place. And rightly too. It is adjacent to the ellora caves so you can visit the caves rest and again revisit.. The hotel is well maintained with lovely manicured gardens. Rooms are very spacious and clean and overlook the lawns mostly. Food is served all day long and is fairly tasty and fresh. Of course since it has carved a niche for itself, the prices are bit high for food but beer is reasonable! What would do wonders for this place are: Providing tea/coffee maker in room( not very diificult) Provide a swimming pool(They have ample space) Provide geyser in every room instead of the big solar heater providing hot water which is tepid by the time it reaches bathroom. provide some customised tours to Ajanta and Aurangabad which are better priced than market rates

Hotel is located just 300m walk from cave complex. That's probably the only advantage, else it's a fairly basic hotel. There aren't better options in the vicinity either. Don't expect a plush room or luxurious bathroom given the price. Room is spacious though and mostly insect-free. 2L bottled water complimentary. In bath only soap and shampoo sachet provided, no other toiletries, water was barely warm. Toilet and jet should ve been better. No intercom in room. There's an SBI ATM at hotel entrance which rarely dispenses cash. The lawn facing the caves is big and nice, there's also kids play area, adults swing, and plenty of chair-tables in the lawn. I had booked cave facing AC cottage only because everything else was sold out. I don't think you need AC room in Dec-Feb, fan is enough. Cave facing rooms not worth the extra cost as only couple of caves are barely visible from distance (cave21 for eg) and if you go sit in the lawn outside the cottages you can get those views anyway. Car park available but generally pre-occupied by cabs who vacate only beyond 2pm. Staff is helpful. Rs100 charges for 3hr Wi-Fi. Your phone connection may not work great. Hotel has a restaurant, or you can walk to the several cheaper dhabas located closeby along the road, some are pure-veg. Most of them close by sunset but few remain open until 11pm.
