If you are looking for a calm and peaceful weekend, this place should be considered as the top bet. The place is run by a tribe for a very noble cause - revenues go in educating the kids there. The people are super friendly and helpful. We were staying in the tree house. Prebook it as there is just one of them and it is an experience. The meals are good especially for a non vegetarian. The main attraction for us was the massage and steam session. It is very soothing and done with ayurvedic oils which smell amazing as well. Raju who provided me the massage was fantastic. Must go and must try - especially if you like to be around nature.

We did our booking by calling up them directly and that was really smooth.our Journey to the resort was beautiful and it took us around 4 hours from Bangalore. Once you enter the check post of the forest area you will find really good view of the forest.we opted for a tree house and it was a good decision by us.we enjoyed our stay at the tree house even though it was a little far from the other cottages we had privacy. We could find elephants coming and playing in the nearby pond near our tree house which was a good awesome view for us. The lunch served once we checked in was soo tasty.we had a tribal dance at night which was so entertaining . The morning trek was the best part.Dnt miss this one .we went into the forest and the trek was for about an Hour.we could find the tribal s houses and the way they live. Overall it was an awesome experience if you wanna stay away from the city chaos.it was the best place to wind your time with your loved ones.

We stayed in the tree house for a couple of nights. The resort is run by and for the benefit of the Sholiga tribals who are native to the area. For reservation, we had to call the resort and transfer a booking amount. They answered the call promptly and gave a decent price. Location: The property is located at the entrance of the B.R. Hills village when you drive from the Kollegal/Yelandur side. The resort is set in a coffee/pepper plantation overlooking a couple of ponds on the edge of the forest. It is heavily wooded and has a pleasant ambience with bird song heard all through the day. There is ample parking and the reception is situated in the first gate close to the gazebo used for the dining area. There is a second gate slightly behind for the cars to be taken towards the accommodation. There are ~10 cottages and a single tree house. The tree house is farthest from the reception on the other side of the property overlooking a smaller pond. Rooms and Comfort The Tree house is built on a steel platform in between couple of trees with lots of creepers on the steel roof. The walls themselves are made of bamboo and has a wooden floor making for a pleasant ambient temperature all year round. There are 2 sections connected a by a small open area. The bathroom & toilet along with the dressing section are a separated from the bedroom. There is a separate shower but no bathtub. The bedroom was a tad smaller than what we had anticipated but was comfortable with sufficient number of charging points and a "diwan" ( a low single bed that couples as a couch). There is a ceiling fan & a small outside facing the pond. The sheets were clean and there were no holes/opening in the ceiling which would be a worry. Food and dining: All the meals are served in the gazebo in buffet style. They also serve early morning tea and snacks in the evening. There was a lot of variety but it was strictly local and indian items only. The one complaint was that all the dishes has a lot of chillies. Non-veg dishes are served both during lunch and dinner. They served chicken and mutton in both curry and grilled/kebab for dry items. The breakfasts always had a juice and fruits were provided for dinner and breakfast. Lunch and dinner had dessert. Activities: The package included a coracle ride in the bigger pond for 15 mts, a nature walk in the morning which was very good accompanied by the resident naturalist along with a visit to the local tribal colony. There was also a zipline which the kids enjoyed. The naturalist will accompany you if you want to go for the drive to K Gudi safari area both in the morning and evening. It is highly recommended since most sightings in K Gudi are on the drive itself. If there are more than 10 guests, they arrange for a tribal story, song and dance which is a must see and experience. On both days all the guests attended and the music is thoroughly enjoyable. This is a definitely highlight of the stay! Spa: The spa is located opposite to the tree house in the smaller pond and has a separate male and female sections. You have to notify the reception on the preferred timing and treatment. The masseur and masseuse claimed to have been trained by the Indus Valley ayurvedic spa and the treatments were Kerala style. The full body massage at 1500 was very good value for money and was rejuvenating. They use good quality oils and the masseur/masseuse are properly trained. One could take bath in the spa itself and is well stocked. Improvements: There a few things that the resort definitely needs to improve on to make the stay more enjoyable: 1. Some of the shower screens were old and were badly in need of replacement. 2. The food had unnecessarily high chillies and garam masala killing the flavour of the generally good quality products used. They should definitely reduce the use of chillies and instead use the locally available pepper which retains flavour while maintaining the heat/spiciness. 3. It is a crime that there are very little bird watching opportunities/long treks despite such a good location and local bio-diversity. Not every one comes to BR hills for coracle ride/zip line activities!! 4. The approach road needs to be fortified since the heavy rains made it difficult for hatches/sedans to navigate. An inconsiderate idiot guest parked his car right in the middle blocking the way for other SUVs/MUVs which could navigate without any remorse/basic decency.

The resort is lovely. Rooms are spacious and well made. Stay is comfortable. The manager, Mr. Raju and his teammates are humble and make you feel at home. Food is okay....... not up to the mark. The resort needs to do lot on facilities with regard to play area and activities. Overall a good place.... slightly over priced.

Due to off season, the rooms were not clean and basic food requirements were not met. We made reservation almost 10 days in advance. There was hardly any staff ready to get basic vegetables. The room was cleaned after several reminders. I understand it to be a good way to experience the forest and nature but daily cleaning and basic meals are expected at least.
