We visited Kanha - Banjaar Tola from 8 - 11 Dec with friends (6 adults). We stayed in the East Camp . The accomodation is superlative. The huge bathrooms , the porticos facing teh forest & river are really memorable. A barbeque had been arranged for us with Baiga Tribal Cuisine and a performance by the local Baigas , which really set the mood . We had taken the Taj Full Day Safari with the Naturalists - Jaya & Deepkul . Spotted the Tigress in the first hall itself and then great birding . We had also taken the nature Walk with the Head Naturalist - Narayan around which was also really nice. The Kitchen Staff served us various kinds of cuisines and not one dish was repeated . What we loved about the entire experience was the keen eye to detail for a guest's comfort . I would definitely recommend this as the place to stay if you are visiting Kanha .

We stayed for four nights/ three days at this superb "camp." The staff is charming and extraordinarily helpful, especially the chef Muktesh, who accommodated a number of special requests, and our guide in the National Park, Falgun, who was extremely knowledgable and made each of the six drives -- even those in which we did not see a tiger -- a great experience. From the terrace, one can often see a troupe of langurs, and many, many birds, along with other wildlife. Beautiful spacoius rooms, tastefully decorated and thoughtfully appointed.

This is a lovely property that has very well maintained tents overlooking a river and the national park. I really like that the bathrooms were so spacious with a tub with a view as well. The property seemed quite well maintained and the bed was very comfortable. The chef was extremely hospitable and charming. Always wanting to make sure I was happy and taking down small notes to remember for future meals (do you like your food spicy, do you like soup, etc). I really was impressed with him. Also, my naturalist (Pradeep?) was amazing- friendly, interesting, intuitive and funny. I could not have asked for someone better. I can see him working at any luxury camp like Singita or Angama Mara and fitting right in. The managers are the ones who seemed to be a bit dishonest and not really up to par. The assistant manager who was perfectly pleasant kept telling me was "looking into it" every time I inquired the status of my sim card request. But he would never get back to me. I would always have to approach him and ask and he would just tell me he is looking into it. I never ended up getting a sim card although the easiest way to get a sim in India is through your hotel. They are located in a isolated location but could have easily asked one of the their drivers to pick me up one when they went into town to do a airport drop off or pick up. The manager told me he was going to help me with it when I arrived (I offered to take care of it by myself before arrival) and it was never done. 2). They told me they had given me the tent with the "best view". The view was of a huge rock and very little river so when I asked to see another option they told me it was not possible. Only after insisting to see one more tent they told me I could see the one next door which had a very nice river view but would not be ready to check in until later. It just seemed like they told me the tent they originally gave me was because it worked out time wise to get me into that one, not because it had a nice view. 3). The heat was not working the second night I was there and they did eventually fix it but I woke up around 2:30 in the morning to it being very cold in my room. When I called the reception no one picked up. When I brought it to the attention of the assistant manager the next day he basically said it was impossible that I had called the night before because the receptionist has the phone next to him in his tent. 4). I had booked a full board rate that was breakfast, lunch and dinner for two for the duration of my stay. Since I had a late flight on my last day, I requested a late check out to which they finally agreed to letting me stay until 2:00pm. They did tell me that if I would like to have lunch it would be an extra charge. While I have no problem paying for the lunch it just seemed like nickel and dime-ing because first I paid the same full board rate that two people would have even though I was only one person and second, with the service hiccups that had occurred during my stay, a lunch would have been a very small cost on their end but left a good impression on mine. All in all, it was a nice enough stay. The staff are all kind and pleasant. I would not recommend this property to anyone who is not staying close by though. It was not worth the long flight to India then another flight from Kolkata to Raipur then a 4.5 hour drive to the property for the quality of stay I had.

We stayed here for 3 nights to bring in New Years. Everything was simply outstanding !! Our tent was very luxurious, spic and span, no mosquitoes / insects and very tastefully done and had all the amenities of a luxury five star suite .. The service and hospitality was top notch , best of Taj standards ! The staff was very friendly , helpful and always smiling !! From the naturalists Narayan , Dipkul to Chef Nim .. everyone was too good! Will miss them! The property is amazing .. they put in so much effort in even the tiniest of details in making your stay memorable . They had a gala dinner on new year eve night which was simply outstanding .. how they managed that in the middle of the forest is just wow !! The food is mostly indian and local and home style cooked .. they are even happy to offer other cuisines like Italian if u tell them in advance . We did 4 game drives .. we spotted 2 tigers and many other animals like Gaur , barasingha, jackal , spotted deers , wild dogs , Sambar, wild boars .. lots of different birds as well .. we really enjoyed all our game drives and kanha national park is really beautiful , well maintained with beautiful landscapes .. highly recommend for all!

I run a photography tour company and I had hosted my clients in this property for three nights. The rooms are nice and spacious. The bathroom is fairly big and very well designed too. The sit out is beautiful and overlooking the river. Overall a great feel to the property. The chef ensured that he took every single request of my clients and delivered well in that aspect. They also got setup an outdoor dinner for us which was very nice. The naturalists, Jaya and Sangeeta were both extremely enthusiastic and were very passionate about their work. Full marks to them. The only grievance was that the packed lunch on the way back was a major disappointment. There was hardly any food in it and they hadn't packed what we had asked for.
