First off I was lucky enough to be at Shergarh when Katie and Jehan were there. What very special people they are whose warmth and care give the Kanha experience added dimension. Sure its about seeing tigers but its also about the people you meet. They were so accommodating. I dont like 8pm group dinners so was served a light dinner at my tent with full candlelight and excellent food. Tents are part canvas and part permanent. They are vary spacious and comfortable. Theres a heater to take the chill off a cold snap and hot water bottles tucked into your bed. I was lucky to have had the most incredible series of five thunder, lightning and hail storms the first night. The best of my life. I was curled up all cozy under my duvet watching the sound and light show through an open flap. Remarkable! You need to be aware that it can get unseasonably cold unexpectedly so pack an extra base layer and down jacket. Also bring those wonderful single use hand warmers and gloves and over the ears hat. They help during the 20 minute open Jeep ride to the park Altogether a wonderful experience that even included a tiger, Ive come to the conclusion that Im not a tiger magnet. Other guests were seeing three and four a game drive. Always luck of the draw. Always exciting in anticipation.

What an amazing stay, the accommodation is lovely, staff couldnt do enough & food so delicious. Such great touches like returning to tent (rather more than a tent) to find window blinds down & hot water bottles to cosy up with & last night the very romantic & thoughtful dinner for two down a candlelit pathway with fire & gorgeous dinner served. Highly recommend 10/10

Really loved this camp, with its beautiful serene setting round the lake and very attentive staff. The tent (well, half tent, half bungalow) was spacious and very comfortable. As the nights were chilly we returned to our tent to find the heater on, blinds drawn and hot water bottles in the bed! What service. Sadly the owners were away when we stayed, but Neville couldn't do enough to enhance our comfort and Raj was an amazing naturalist guide who went out of his way to try to find all the birds which my ornithologist husband hoped to spot. Thanks too for arranging a trip to the local school so I could deliver my gifts in person, thanks to SK for taking us along and for taking us to 'gatecrash' his relatives wedding in the village, which was quite an experience! Food and service was excellent and it was lovely to eat out for breakfast and lunch, whilst cosying up inside in the evenings round the log fire. Grounds are lovely to walk round, and there is efficient wifi in the 'hotspot'. Very highly recommended if you are visiting Kanha NP.

We arrived late in the day after a long and delayed train, and were made to feel very welcome from the beginning. There is a great, friendly atmosphere at Shergarh with really nice food, communal area and the tents themselves are also really comfortable. The safaris we did were incredible and made this the highlight of our whole trip. The guides, Raj and Son Singh, were both really knowledgeable and fantastic and spotting wildlife, we wouldn't have seen a fraction of the things we saw without them pointing it all out! The team also really went out of their way to make the safaris really comfortable as well as exciting which was a new experience for us! Hot water bottles, blankets, coffee, biscuits and a really nice packed breakfast was the perfect accompaniment to tiger spotting! National Parks/wildlife is generally what we focus our trips around, and we have visited a fair few places like this in the past, and Shergahr is at least one of, if not the best, place we have visited (and without a doubt the highlight of this trip), I can't recommend it highly enough.

We had the best ever stay at Shergarh! The hospitality extended by Katie and Jehan and their team is rare and outstanding and will always be remembered. The accomadation is supreme and simplistic. We loved sitting outside on the porch of our tent in the darkness of a cold winter morning in complete peace and quiet with just the sounds of the jungle. It is rustic and as close to nature as it can get. The naturalists were very knowledgable and gave us a rich insight into the wildlife, flora and fauna of the Kanha National park. We enjoyed the village walks, the cycle treks and a school visit in the village. The food was superb and can be described with many more delicious words so special thanks to the Chef! A special mention to Neville who took care of every little detail during our stay, thank you for organising us. We will be back for more!
