We enjoyed our stay at Bagh Sarai. The resort had to offer everything we needed, Comfortable Accommodation, Peaceful Atmosphere, Sense of Wilderness and Great Great Food. The Resort is located 10kms (~20mins) before Tala Zone of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve but is close to Maghdi and Khitauli Zone. The Resort shares its boundry with the Buffer Forest and is very close to Mahaman Area of the Maghdi Zone thus ensuring you feel connected to the Jungle. We spotted lot of birds and pack of Jackals well within the resort. The fact that the resort is away from hustle bustle of Tala Gate (due to mushroomed up Resorts) gave a sense of feeling that we are staying in middle of a Jungle. The Cottages are spacious, comfortable and well built. The three layered hatch structure structure ensured the cottage remained warm during the chilly nights. The cottage overlooked the surrounding forest area and provided a wonderful view. We stayed in cottage no 3 but all the cottages provide similar view and are great. Our room had some Water Heater Plumbing Issue but the staff ensured we were provided Hot water as an when required. The dining area is wonderfully designed and the dim light and bonfire ensured all our dinners were memorable experiences. The food was excellent, simple yet very homely and fully satisfying our taste buds. They tried to introduce variety by cooking different vegetables and dals. The Breakfast given during the game drives was also simple yet very tasty. However they can improve upon it by including fresh fruits. The staff was very attentive to our needs and caring. They employ local village boys as staff who are not pro but will go beyond the line of duty to provide care. Mr. Neeraj Pathania (Resort Owner) was a perfect host to us. We will surely miss our long conversations with him over meals / tea. He is a very knowledgeable person and was very attentive to our needs. He took us out for a nearby village visit which was a memorable experience. Our Airport taxi Transfer and Safaris were arranged by the Resort Itself and were spot on. The Resort was thoughtful enough to arrange for a covered car for our pick up and drop to tala gate which was a blessing in chilly winter mornings. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the City and experience true wilderness then Bagh Sarai is the place to stay. Cherry on the cake was that we were lucky to spot 5 tigers during our 8 game drives. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish to visit again.

The place was awesome with lovely surroundings and complete attention from the host Niraj with his interesting stories made the stay worthwhile. The kids felt completely at home in the resort. The food menu and the prices can improve for sure. The individual cottages were very warm and comfortable in the peak winter. The visit to the tribal village was the icing on the cake.

Ive spent 10 days this year and I'm planning to come back for next year. Best resort with the best man I've ever seen in my whole life . Mr Neeraj Pathania, who lead you into the great Indian wildlife.

It was a unique and rejuvenating experience for me and my wife when we visited Bagh Sarai in Dec 16. The concept of keeping the nature intact to the best extent possible in its 12 acre surroundings tells a lot about the uniqueness of this concept. Sighting of blue bull inside the campus and also saw pack of jackals right next to its boundary speaks volumes about its rawness. I will visit again to this place.

How wild can you get in the jungle? As a tiger, really really wild. As a human, not as wild as the tigers for sure. Or may be you can. Then stay here for sure. Coz this place is as wild as the jungle. Think about this. You are travelling with a family and there's nobody to take care of you in that resort. Imagine, you ask for something and it takes atleast an hour for them to get back to you. Even if that's water. The chef cooks suitably for foreign tongue as they said. May be, Indians are not welcomed in this resort. They should have a board outside saying this. Coz the food that was served had to be re-cooked to be digested. No denying the fact that all these are "wild" experiences. They have kept it as natural as possible. As jungle like. Sure. But then shouldn't that be told to travellers. At least, the ones who are not so wild. The ones who are not tigers. The worst part is that there's no communication between the owner and the staff at the resort. The owner, Mr. Neeraj, is certainly a passionate wildlife lover. He is very wild, indeed. More than the tigers at times. But then he should stick to his wild side and be in the jungles and not run a resort. He is a lovely gentleman with many wild stories. But his resort is really not looked after. Sorry to say this Mr. Neeraj but as a family were are extremely disappointed in the way we were treated in the resort. And i have never seen and been to place where there's no billing structure. They don't have a menu card. A rate card. They don't give you bills for anything you buy. They charge Rs200 for a bowl of peanuts. That too, the chef writes it on a piece of paper and gives it to you. They even charge for food you have not taken at times. And when you point out they politely strike it out. Really really wild place i must admit. I kept wondering how can this place have good reviews on this site coz i followed it while booking. Must be some really wild people staying here. The ones who are as wild as the tigers and need no care and can manage on their own. But having said all that, i must appreciate the rooms and the way it is done up. What really feels bad that this place has a lot of promise but is totally in the wrong hands currently and the management is not equipped at all to serve the humans coming to stay there. So, tiger tiger burning bright/staying here for you is alright!!!
