First of all, the Roaring Salvan County literally borders the park, and Bheem (currently the largest tiger in India), walks right along the outside of the resort's fence many nights on his way to his den. We didn't see him there, but we heard the other animals' warning calls when he was around. Sometimes he growls and you can hear him. So it feels like you are staying right in the park, not in some resort in the nearby town, with a huge tiger commonly crossing within meters of where you are (don't worry, it's safe). Second, the resort was like a magical oasis after traveling through India for over a month. It was quiet (no car horns!), the cottages were fantastic with a real safari feel to them, the food was wonderful, and the staff top-notch. I even took pictures of the bathroom in our cottage for ideas for a future remodel. Third, the owner Varun spoke the best English we experienced in India, and he is a true treasure if you are wildlife enthusiasts like we are. He's a naturalist and very passionate about the forest, the tigers and other wildlife, and is very happy to share his knowledge with you. He went on our safaris with us and thanks to him, I can tell you the difference, in sound and meaning, between the warning calls of the spotted deer and sambar :) Fourth, the price is incredibly reasonable for what you get. We stayed four days and wish we had stayed ten. Do yourself a favor and stop looking at other places and just book here. You will not regret it.

Stay at this lovely african-style safari resort was my best experience from the whole trip to India. I liked the friendly atmosphere and treatment. Mr. Varun Sharma is an excellent host and I enjoyed myself very much.

Excellent place for those who needs quiet place in the midst of nature. Each cottage is designed in a way that family have their privacy. Staff is courteous and food is good quality. Few things that needs to be aware of - 1. Mobile phone will work only from one spot (literally) and there is no WIFI. 2. Tala were all safari starts. It's about 15 kms away from this place so vehicle will be required. 3. if you arrive with the driver, there is additional charge for Driver stay and food. Please enquire about this before booking. We booked from MakeMytrip and we were not informed about this. 4. If owner is not there, hotel is run by staff (no professional manager). Once in a while you will find drop in service.

I really cant say enough about this place. What an oasis. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The food was delicious. The showers were steaming hot. The attentive staff was super friendly. Everything was taken care of and every expectation was exceeded. The owner is well connected and well respected in the community. He is extremely involved with all things Safari related and many of the guides and members of the forest department know him personally. He is extremely knowledgeable and helped us book four Safaris for a price that was more than fair. He is a trained naturalist and he accompanied us as our guide and translator (his English is excellent). He even went above and beyond to help us arrange our future travels in India. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that we saw several tigers, a bear, bison, boar, monkeys, peacocks and other countless birds and animals. Truly a magical place! Highly recommended!
