Travelers have the choice of hundreds of hotels in Bangalore, ranging from rooms for a few rupees to all the international chains such as the Sheraton. We have stayed for several years, often for a few days two or three times in one journey, at an economical but perfectly satisfactory small hotel, AJ International Hotel,#15/1 Bowring Hospital Road, across from Saint Paul's Church, near the corner of Jumma Masjid Road. The AJ is safe, clean, and friendly and has 24 hour hot water It is close to shopping on Commercial Street a few blocks away.and has on site parking. Double Room: Rs1800 (~$30) a night with substantial breakfast, newspaper, and a liter of drinking water a day included. There is a good restaurant in the AJI and it is close to Kamat Hotel with another good (all veg) restaurant and the best lassi around as well as being close to the Imperial, with a great non-veg and veg menu. The AJ is the site of parties, from the Muslim community mostly, business conferences, job interview fairs, and wedding receptions. Clientele is from a wide variety of communities: Muslim Indians, Gulf Arabs, Tibetans, Hindus, American evangelicals, Europeans, South African women's group, and our American / Buddhist monk six person group . The evangelicals set up singing (hymns) practice and morning devotionals in the reception area several mornings when they were there, tolerated / appreciated by all the other guests, so far as I could discern. We had a birthday party for a friend's daughter, with catered supper and a variety of Hindu and Buddhist school and family friends: Indians, Nepalese, and Tibetans. One could pay more, even much more, but the AJ is more than adequate and has a friendly clientele and staff. It is good place to meet at least part of a cross section of the variety of Indians and travelers in this diverse land. You do not meet India at the Sheraton.

I booked this hotel for my one night stay when the office accommodation was not available due to misunderstanding and I don't want to spend a lot as it was literally just a matter of a night. Overall I got a very good last minute deal and the price that I paid. I had dinner at empire hotel and very good restaurant. Walkable distance from the hotel.

My three days stay was good. Plus Room was comfortable, neat and well furnished. Staff were cordial and friendly. Buffet Breakfast was Ideal. Food served was of good taste and quality, worth the money we pay. Onion Pakora was my most fav (do give it a try). Accessibility to the hotel is also good. Minus Had Wifi Issues in the room though. Restaurant timing was limited and menu was too short Dining was maintained but not attractive. Over all, Giving the 4th star for a good budget stay for costly metro like Bengaluru.

Me and my husband visited this place and stayed for 2 days. Service was excellent. Staff were brilliant. They dint give a single chance to complain. Food was good as well. Though the hotel was busy with interviews and other things we were not neglected a big plus point. I will definitely refer this place to everybody out there . You will have a fab experience.

This is the worst hotel ever stayed. We wanted to order to dinner @ 7 so we had called the Room service, they told us that due to ramzan, the chef is not available so they have closed the restaurant. We can order from outside restaurant and they are sending someone to the room to take the order immediately. After wait for 1 hour when we called to ask what is the delay they stated that the person is busy and he will come to take order at 10 PM only. A.C is like water fountain, it was leaking on the table. we had keep our wallet, mobile and watches which got total wet. the swipe card for the room can access other rooms in the floor too.
