  • My favourite hotel in Bangalore

by SusielovesIndia on January 25, 2017

I have stayed at Chalukya every December/January for fifteen years. Nothing has changed, and, I mean nothing. Same staff, same menu, same beds, same broken stuff! The incessant honking of horns outside will lull you to sleep in your rock hard bed,as your wafer thin pillow cradles you to sleep. The staff will badger you for tips. Half the items on their menu won't be available when you order it. The room service will pretend to forget stuff so they have to send for another tip badgerer with your forgotten item. It's hilarious, really! That said, I love Chalukya, it's staff members, it's food, it's location. It's near to Bangalore Turf Club, Bangalore Golf Club, Chitra Kala Parishad, Cubbon Park. The food is pretty good, not overwhelmingly good, but dependable and I highly recommend the masala dosa and the gobi Manchurian. Fabulous! Chalukya is a slice of good old style India, nothing changes. Please be respectful and don't stay here if you are half naked or too scruffy from Goa. They won't be pleased. I still would not stay anywhere else while in Bangalore!

  • Traditional Hotel

    by MuthuKumarT123 on December 16, 2016

I have visited hotel many time with my colleagues. Food items are very good here. You get hot and good food. But you have to wait 15 to 20 minutes to get your food. It is very near to Vidhana soudha so it will be crowded always.

  • A good stay

    by Alvika18 on October 21, 2016

The rooms are spacious are beautiful. They food is good. The bathrooms are clean and the bathroom fittings are pretty, got a bathtub which is rare in hotels these days. The service and location of the hotel is excellent too. I had a wonderful and pleasant stay.

  • Chalukya restaurants awesome dosas

by Dhandhaniar on August 24, 2016

The restaurant has some very nice dosas. If you are from bbay and you like the bbay style dosas then this is the place to go. They also make it extra crisp if requested. Rest of the snacks are like any other good restaurant, nothing much to talk or complain about.

  • Old And Ignored

by HiteshPurohit on August 17, 2016

Located at the heart of city, it's obvious it might have paid back handsome returns to its owner so far! I am sure it would have been a hotspot during its earlier days, but I bet you it needs some huge revival now. Right from those tip begging culture from waiters to the age old furniture, Ill-maintained ACs, outdated ambience.....the management should get some tips from modern hospitality industry. Overall.....not satisfied
