Note: This review is only for the camping stay at Maday Holidays Pros: -Camping under the open skies -Bonfire @ night (barbeque also available) -Fresh off the branch supply of guavas ;) -Activities: Zip lining, trekking(beware of leeches), jeep tour of the estate included in the package -Basic but delicious food and mouth watering Dessert Cons: -very basic amenities, do not expect luxurious setup -not suitable for small children or elderly people Suggestions- bring your own water bottles if you prefer so, carry supplies of snacks etc as the place doesn't have a market close by, keep mosquito repellent, powerbanks, a torch handy in case of electricity cut and to charge phones, which you may want to use for clicking pictures or music, as there is not much other use possible - no network, a blessing rather.

Maday was the best part of our trip. Two brothers are managing these camps and they are really good. First they have not taken money from us (even i have not paid advance while booking stay as well) and they told they are not doing all these for money, we really got shocked at that time, but slowly we understood that they are very passionate on these nature camps after staying there for 2 days. Treatment was awesome, guys supporting them over there are also cool, 2 dogs over there are also very cool, they have followed us while we were trekking like guards. They have arranged all the facilities properly, even they have provided barbecue setup for us immediately once we asked them. Good place to stay, it is very cool and pleasant. Please go and have fun, you will not regret on your decision, it will be the best experience i believe.

We have visited this place in Sep 2015 . We are a group of 6 friends with a couple of toddlers. So, this review is applicable to the guest house , but not the camp. Pros : - The stay is 7kms from Madakeri right on the main highway. - Rooms are spacious and value for money.Bathrooms are good. Hot water is available all the time. - Facilities are OK for single travellers or friends groups . - Two friendly dogs for pet lovers - The walk towards the stream is beautiful and the camping site is good. Cons: - The rooms are not clean, not maintained well. The stairs to the first floor are slippery (when it rains) and the lighting in the whole place is below par. just one 40 watt bulb for one room. the bed linen is not clean . - stairs and rooms are not safe for toddlers as the railings are not adequate. - No full time room service or any such facilities. - The rooms are facing the highway (next to highway actually) and there is no view at all.

I have been to Coorg 4 times, with different groups; and every time we went, we have stayed at the Maday Estate Homestay. Each trip has had a different, unique experience. The Bopanna family hospitality has been great and we are very good friends now (By the way, this is no "paid review"!). First, this is a homestay and not a luxury resort. So, the folks visiting the place have to expect certain shortcomings anyway. Moreover, the place is in a remote location. So, again, infrastructure would be a bit lacking. Finally, this is Coorg - not a metropolitan city. So, life as a tourist will be rugged. For people who would rather have luxury, Orange County is perhaps where they need to head to. The homestay is cosy, huge and also has a small stream at the back. Pretty laid back, Sai and team also provide trekking trips. The food is good and the hosts do things out of their way to satisfy the guests. We enjoyed the holiday - be it 15 members of 45! Due to the location, there are constant power cuts and we did not have cell phone signal. But, that could be pardoned! The bath facilities were adequate and catered to the huge crowd adequately well. The homestay is a great place for youngsters, as older people would find it difficult getting around, unless they choose to stay in the main house at the front of the property. It is a great value for money!

While Maday might be a very basic living option, the stay at their guest house was quite a relaxing experience...Reasonable room rates and great home cooked Kodava food/Cuisine...The rooms were nothing much to write home about, but they were clean, loos were clean with a view of the coffee estate from the window and the bright monsoon skies...Ideally the best time to go to Madikeri is post the monsoons but even the rains have their own charm here...If you want to truly disconnect from the tech-crazy world of phone calls, tv, etc i would say try this place out...the people are very hospitable and charming hosts...Sai and Giri the owners of the establishment are not only great company but also helpful and give you a true insight into the world of the Kodava's- Native's of Coorg...The expanse of their coffee estate is refreshing with coffee plants, spices growing in the surroundings...Nature is the key and the freshly grown vegetables and home cooked food a winner! While Maday is about 8kilometers away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded Madikeri town, its super if you want to explore the place and troop out for an adventure..whether it's solo or in a group...The evening bonfires were very relaxing amidst the odd leech drama that ensued thanks to the monsoons...having said that, it's not such a deal breaker-leeches are part and parcel of the monsoons and greenery around in Coorg...I didnt have any latching onto me, so seriously not a deal breaker...Try socks and shoes and you're fine..Reasonably priced and when there's good weather with the sun shining bright-options of adventure sports or camping out are a definite plus...
