What's Good: Room service was poor. No food is served on request even though it is found in the menu card. The behaviour of the person who was taking order for room service was rude.

What's Good: HOTEL : Location is excellent. Hotel Room and facilities are good. Breakfast is OK. They can improve the verity instead of serving the same type of food every day. South Indian meal and the staff service was not up to the expectation and needs lots of improvement and change in verity. FLIGHT : Flight experience was very bad with AIR INDIA. Bengaluru -Mumbai Flt. was cancelled and was combined with Flt via Cochin and the travel time was four hours instead of 1.20 hrs. Even Cochin flt had some problem with the AC. We have decided not to travel again by AIR INDIA.

Bengaluru today is a labyrinth of hotels spread across its geography. But once upon a time, Bengaluru was a pensioners paradise and not the IT hub it is today and had less number of hotels then. Woodlands is one of the oldest star hotels in Bengaluru located in Central Bengaluru, at Richmond Circle. They have a huge property in terms of area which boasts of ample parking space, a separate restaurant and huge rooms. The size of the room is pretty huge for a twin sharing model. In todays scenario, 2 rooms could have been easily made into 3 rooms . The rooms in which I stayed did not have an air conditioning unit but it wasnt required given the pleasant weather and the cool air which was blowing in the evenings. The property is little far away from the main road hence you are away from the hustle bustle of the city. The room is properly maintained but it is the bathroom which is in need of a touch up. The bathroom still belongs to an era gone by when bath-tubs were in vogue and every hotel aspired to provide one to its customers. But in todays times, it is an impediment to have a bath either under a shower or using other means. The basin & faucets also need to be changed immediately. The water flow is pretty slow & most of the water from the basin flows into the gap and onto the floor, making it a messy affair. They offer a buffet breakfast which is complimentary with your room tariff. The spread of the breakfast is pretty much ok; Idli, Medu Wada, Upma or Khara Bhath [as it is known in Bengaluru], Dosa, Bread Butter. The menu was same on both days of my stay which came as a bit of a dampner. The service is decent though nothing great. Woodlands is a good place to stay if you dont mind a medieval hotel with an old styled bathroom and the rates of which are pretty pocket friendly.

I must have been put in the older building. The room was clean. Bed was hard but OK. Two twin beds pushed together. Air conditioning worked. No hot water in sink but shower was OK. Also equipped for a bucket shower. Had to ask for soap and toilet paper. Small towel, no wash cloth. No tea or coffee in room. The room showed a lot of signs of wear: water damage to the bathroom door, crooked light fixture, patched walls. Flat screen TV. Wifi signal was weak in the room. This place is OK for a short stay on business but is certainly no place for a Westerner to go for a nice experience. Restaurant food was just average.

Stayed at this hotel for a business meeting courtesy of a client. We were put up in what is called the new building. On the plus side: Big spacious room. Didn't require the air conditioner, because the weather was very pleasant. Beds are comfortable with clean bed linen. Staff is courteous and helpful. Bathrooms are clean with the towels being changed daily. On the minus side: Hot water takes time to flow in the mornings. Even though they say free Wi-Fi and provide you with a password, it doesn't work. Managed by using my phone as a hot-spot. This is a vegetarian establishment, so meals in the restaurants are vegetarian. This isn't the place if you're someone who likes to start off the day with eggs, sausage, etc. for breakfast, and chicken/mutton/fish for lunch and dinner. (Walk down the drive-way, and a minute's walk to the left brings you to Ramanashree Hotel, which has two restaurants, Parika (multi-cuisine) and Kudla (seafood), if you don't feel like having a vegetarian meal). On the other hand the rooms are comfortable, ranging from budget to higher priced rooms (INR 1,600 non-AC, to INR 5,500 for cottages), there's lots of parking space, and the ambience is that of a old-world hotel.

The Woodlands restaurant offers a delicious, healthy and wholesome vegeterian lunch and dinner platter (thali). The food is served traditionally on a banana leaf. It includes vegetables and lentils cooked as per Karnataka cuisine requirements. The meal ends with and Indian dessert a fruit and paan (betel leaf and condiments). The ambience is clean and the staff are efficient in service.
