Vickram and his staff were excellent. Did it matter that it wasn't in Hampi? Not at all, in fact we preferred it. Tuk Tuk cheap enough and a 4 km walk to Hampi wasn't difficult. Vickram arranged a car to pick us up from Ballari train station and we used a Hanuman (always smiling) as our local guide over 3 days. Nothing too much trouble for this hotel, even got some laundry done. Restaurant food excellent and great service. 10/10+

The only advantage staying at this hotel is that it is really close to all the points of interest in Hampi. They may be a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes by car. The staff were helpful, however, the room could have been maintained better. The hotel accepts all major credit and debit cards (except AMEX) and even PayTM. They have a restaurant attached to the hotel, however it is very expensive, and they don't accept cash. There are alternatives available nearby.

Hotel Varsha is the perfect base from which to explore the stunning, historical Hampi. If you would like to avoid the main strip in Hampi as well as the 'nearest town', Hosapet, then Hotel Varsha is the perfect option for you! From the moment we arrived (for our three day stay), the staff could not possibly have been more helpful. From the wait staff to the manager, every staff member went out of their way to help us at every turn. The room in which we stayed is quite possibly my favourite accommodation ever. It was fairly basic but clean, bright and huge, with a massive bathroom and an enormous, comfy bed. The fan and air-con were extremely effective and despite the baking heat outside, we were cool as cucumbers the entire time. The location of Hotel Varsha is possibly its best feature; if you are an avid hiker (like us), the a round trip from your hotel, to Hampi and back will take you around six hours (plus time for gawking). The local wine shop (a two minute walk) and dosa shop (same) are great options for grabbing a beer and a meal and there are loads of taxis available if that's your thing. The restaurant attached to the hotel was a huge win for a pair of weary (hungry) travelers. The food was clean, hot, delicious and generously portioned. The fruit smoothies were fantastic and the coffee was some of the best I've had anywhere. All of this was prepared quickly, (very) cheaply and with a genuine smile. As vegans, it was pleasant to find that there was a great range of food available and that the staff were happy to modify menu items to meet our needs. As an unexpected and welcome bonus, we were even allowed to pay in Australian dollars. The only critical comments I have are that alcohol is not sold or allowed (although you are only two minutes from a wine shop/pub/bar full of locals) and that you WILL be woken up by the amplified wailing from the local mosque at about 4.30 each morning (hardly the hotel's fault). An outstanding hotel and an absolute 10/10 for value. Highest recommendation.

This is one of the better hotel near Hampi and definitely value for money. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. Since I prefer savaji dishes, I only had food outside. So cant comment on the food part. Overall great place to stay in hampi and one can easily travel in buses or hire two wheeler for travel. It just 3KM from hampi.

This review is about the restaurant and not about the hotel, as i have been there for lunch only. The location is fantastic, closer to all major attractions, added advantages are two ATMs,one antique shop at the ground floor and easy availability of guides. talking about restaurant, its one of the branches of Mango tree. Thus you will get similar seating and food. Its veterinarian place. Food i believe is made from scratch, you can even look inside the kitchen ( its clean). Indian, Asian, European and Continental Food is available. we ate noodles, palak paneer, roti, and it was delicious with big portions. Prices are reasonable if you compare with metro city like Mumbai , and a bit pricey for hampi standards. Very clean place to eat and relax before you proceed for another attraction. Though its clean place to seat and eat, it has a bad washroom. What i could gather by looking at the hotel and from my guide that rooms here are very basic and may not be suitable for families with kids.
