Our stay at the Iora Guest House was simply lovely from start to finish. We arrived after a day long trip from Varanasi, and were welcomed into a ground floor room with two singles, with good bathroom facilities (we had both hot water and loo roll) and a strong fan. Despite the late hour, the chef cooked us supper. The following morning, the owners brother booked us train tickets for the next two legs of our journey at no commission. He also gave us advice on bus stops and trains. The owner himself was equally lovely, informing us about the nearby wildlife sanctuary (we rented bikes to cycle through it for the day), giving us advice on navigating Bharatpur and being generally amenable to all of our needs. The owners wife, in the absence of the chef, even cooked our supper! Finally, with our train leaving at 6.10am, the two organised that we be dropped off personally to the train station. Iora Guest House was a sanctuary after weeks of travel, where we could replenish ourselves. The facilities were decent, but it was really our hosts who made the place outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Large simple rooms, very clean, very nice meals, very good advices, helpful staff: I enjoyed it so much that I decided to forget my stay in Agra and visited Taj Mahal from here ! There is much more to do in the area than visit the park (which is anyway a must do) ! Devandra Singh is very wellcoming, has extremely good advices on what to do and visit and how to visit the park: he is a keen naturalist, a good photographer and very helpful.

We wanted to stay here for much, much longer. The room was very clean and pretty. The staff was nice, so was the food in the restaurant (which was also very cheap!). They had a perfect A/C which was very quiet and very hot (or cold) water. There is a school in front of the hotel. The children started singing at 7.30, which made us awake a little early. Besides that, you should definetely stay here! :)

Bharatpur is a fairly small town outside of Agra, home to Keoladeo National Park. This guesthouse offers basic but safe accommodation fairly close to Keoladeo. The staff are friendly and accommodating.

I stayed in Iora Guest House, Bharatpur from 14 Feb 2018 to 21 Feb 2018 and I found it a perfect lodge, at just a few minutes walk to the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. Spacious, comfortable, clean rooms and bathrooms; 24 hours hot water; clean beds and towels; fresh, hot, delicious food as per ones preference (thanks to the cook, Mr. Phokan) are the main specialties. The owner Shri. Devendra Singh arranged a well-experienced autorickshaw puller-cum-guide for birding (Mr. Harish Chand) and arranged delivery of breakfast and lunch at park everyday during my stay. He also arranged a vehicle for my one-day visit to Chambal National Park and the vehicle driver Mr. Laxman provided me all the information I needed. What else you expect? I must call Mr. Devendra Singh and his brother Mr. Jitendra Singh as Always smiling, Yes brothers, as it seems that both of them do not know the word, No. On my request I was served hot tea everyday at 5:00 AM and on returning back from sanctuary in the evening, which is very appreciating. Apart from stay and food, both these brothers are always ready to help you for everything. On the day I left Bharatpur, Mr. Devendra Singh again arranged a vehicle for Mathura Jn. Though not a luxurious hotel, it is a basic lodge having good facilities like Wi-Fi and a small book library. It is a perfect place to stay and eat. It is certainly a home away from home and during my next visit to Bharatpur in November, Iora Guest House will be, no doubt, my home.
