This was the best of 6 lodges we stayed at during our 4-week India trip - and the most expensive. Excellent stopover an route from Ahmedabad and Gir NP. Our 'villa' was well laid out with lots of inspiration from Africa. The food was the best we had during our trip, and we were impressed with the chef who came out to talk with the guests. We did two safari drives and saw what we had come to see, i.e. the Blackbucks, Jungle Cat, Stribed Hyenas, and a wolf at a distance etc etc. Blackbucks would be watched from our veranda. Most enjoyable stay. The only big negative was that we only stayed for one night! Highly recommendable!

This is a relatively unknown and under visited gem, en route between Ahmedabad and Gir Park. Blackbuck Park is a stone's throw away and is great for a day or two relaxed safari drives. Blackbuck ( what else) abound and bound but also got a rare glimse of wolves, hyena and jungle cats hunting. All in a really comfy jeep. The driver and Park guide also make it special. Great fun! The Lodge itself was fabulous. Service unassuming but personal and genuine. Our villa had lovely views from the patio with wildlife ambling past our gaze, often closer. Very spacious villa with very large king bed, jet bath and lovely outdoor shower area. The food was outstanding too. The chef Rajesh, introduced himself at our first lunch then tailored all other meals to our taste, including a packed breakfast as we departed. He is a star who deserves to go far. And, in Gujarat, you can get an alcoholic drink!! This was a memorable 2 night stay.

Styled similar to safari lodges in Africa this was the nicest place we stayed during our recent one month travel of Gujarat. The service was second to none and the decor beautiful. As soon as you arrive you are greeted with a cool drink and cold towels to refresh. We had number 12 lodge which was beautifully furnished and came with an outside shower as well as a large bathroom with a bath and shower. I am not sure you would ever be able to have a hot bath though as the water heater would not have provided sufficient hot water for it. The rooms were serviced three times a day by delightful staff. The whole place was immaculate and oozed style with beautiful china, bed and table linen. We had a problem one day with the water heater and within minutes of reporting the problem it was fixed. It was very quiet whilst we were there so we had the use of the delightful tented lounge by the lake to ourselves along with the beautiful white cushioned tent on the west side of the complex. Blackbuck came very close to the properties late afternoon and seemed quite unperturbed by our presence if we kept quiet. The chef was extremely accommodating cooking us whatever we fancied using fresh vegetables from their organic garden. His breakfast granola with fresh fruit and yoghurt was simply delicious, as was the home made continental breads. In fact all the food we ate was delicious. If you want to get away from the noise, grime and rubbish of India and you love remoteness, quality and style this is the place for you. We feel very lucky to have been able to spend 3 whole days here. The safaris were well organised and thoughtfully a warm blanket was provided for the early mornings which were surprisingly cold. We saw a great many animals and birds, the highlight being 3 hyenas which we followed. A rare sight as there are only 8 apparently in the whole national park. Well done Mickey for constructing such a wonderful spot, you need to inspire other hoteliers in India. Your attention to detail was quite apparent. I was impressed by the helpful and polite staff who were well dressed and all wore identical shoes. If we have the chance we will be back in a flash.

Had booked a cottage in this resort for 2 nights from 11-13 Jan 2018 during our visit to Velvadar national park. Must admit that the place is comparable with any resort in the world. Very well anointed cottages and landscaped surroundings makes the place a must visit. Ended up extending the stay by one more night. Mr Rakesh, the manager takes keen interest in the functioning of the place and personally ensures that the guests are comfortable. Mr Rajesh the Chef is more than willing to provide you with your personal likes during the stay. Overall an excellent place to spend 2-3 days, though bit expensive. A complimentary safari to the national park would be appreciated. Additional safari could be charged. Thanks Rakesh and Rajesh for making the trip most memorable.

The location of the place is excellent, very serene and peaceful. It was fantastic to see the blackbuck roaming around in the vicinity of the cottages. Very well detailed in terms of aesthetics and the open shower is a lovely add on. The chef is superlative and took personal care of customising the menu for us. The naturalist mr Haidar is very knowledgeable and the safari with him was a pleasure. Only thing mgmt could have included the safari in the package itself, we felt it to be slightly overpriced.
