Known as the 'Textile City of India', Bhilwara is located in Rajasthan and playing a major role in uplifting the state's economy. Followed by Ajmer and Jaipur, it is the costliest city in Rajasthan and houses a number of companies. This industrial town is visited by thousands of business travellers every year. However, when Tejaji Mela, Jal Joolani Ekadasha, Badnore Pash Mela and Harni Mahadev Mela are organised, the city is visited by tourists also.
There are various places to visit in Bhilwara, and among these, Bijolian Mandakini Temple is the most famous name. Hundreds of devotees visit this temple everyday to offer their prayers to presiding deities. Two of the other renowned shrines are Hajaresvara Mahadeva Temple and Jataun ka Mandir. Apart from shrines, tourists can visit Pur Udan Chatri, Mandal and Harni Mahadev.
While in Bhilwara, tourists can spare some time to visit the Mandakini Baori Stepwell, an age-old structure. A trip can also be planned to Mandalgarh Menal Waterfall, which has witnessed a number of historic battles. Close to this attraction is a fort, wherein a temple enshrines an idol of Lord Shiva.
What tourists like about Bhilwara is the presence of all the basic amenities that make their stay in the city comfortable. Tourists are advised to avoid visiting the town during the summer season as the temperature remains quite high. The best time to explore Bhilwara is during winters, when the weather is cool and soothing due to the low temperature.
