Best place to stay. I stayed their with family for 10 days and more than happy with services and hospitality. You live close to nature and all the major view points are accessible from The Finley house.

So, first I would like to tell that I am a roaming kinda person and have had many stays till now within and outside country as I love visiting new places. I travelled to Nainital in the first week of June 2017 and stayed in this "Cottage" for 3 nights. I made my bookings from "RightStay" in two parts (2+1 nights) as later I realized that 2 nights are not sufficient to visit all other nearby places in Nainital. Now I must tell you that I really impressed with the property at first sight and spent two peaceful nights there. The weird story begins from the morning of third day when the old aged owner of the property (who stays right next to to the property along with his wife) called me and told that he has got the bookings for just 2 nights from me so I need to leave the current portion and stay in the underground 2BHK portion for last night. That was shocking for me as I already got the notification from "MMT" that the booking for 3rd and last night is also confirmed by owner. I straight away went to owner to show him the booking confirmation voucher on my cellphone, but strangely he denied to look even at my phone and asked what problem I have in shifting the room. WOW.. that was unexpected. I calmly told him that since I have already spent 2 nights in the same room so I would not like to change my room and why should I change as I have booked it for all the 3 nights. After some "unnecessary" reasonings and conversation he agreed and said "OK, at least give me the keys of your rooms while going out today as I need to show the room to the new guests and then I will make them stay in another room". This request seemed not feasible to me but respecting their old age I have given my keys to him (I had no precious things in the room). I thought the issues is resolved here and enjoyed whole day. At night after having dinner at "Machaan" when I came back, the servant "Harish" told me that my things had been moved to another underground rooms as you already gave keys to them. I and my family was shocked hearing this. We went to the old owner instantly and asked about the incident, the replied that you only have told me to move your items from your room, I asked when, he said in the morning and thats why you have given the keys to me. We (me and my wife) bashed on the owner family and tried to call the police by dialing "100" but the number was not reachable. After 30 mins long bitter and vague conversation we finally decided to spend the last night to the new room as "there was nothing more we could do at that time" . Believe me, I couldn't sleep that night. So after the above long story, I would suggest if you are booking this room then stay away from owner's interaction. Spend your time like you spend it at any hotel and checkout. Owner should have appoint a manager as he doesn't understand the technology and always does what he likes to do.
