Few days back I visited Noor us sabah for dinner for the first time and went to the Chinese restaurant .the restaurant was very beautiful. food was delicious and miss Srijana attended us with a very pretty smile which makes us feel more comfortable being there. Overall food and service both satisfied me and my partner.

We recently hosted a lunch for our extended family in one of the banquet halls at Noor-Us-Sabah Palace hotel and we were very satisfied with the experience. This was surprise birthday party for my mother's 75th birthday so it was important that we chose the right place. We requested quotations from Noor-Us-Sabah Palace (NUS), Jehanuma Retreat and Courtyard by Marriott Bhopal by calling their Banquet enquiry numbers. All of them promptly replied with their quotation through email. While Jehanuma Retreat didnt seem much interested as such (perhaps due to our small gathering on 35-40 guests) and never followed up after sending quotation, the banquet team from NUS and Marriott were keen on making sure that we finalize them. Both were similar in terms of menu and rates and in the end, we chose NUS Palace primarily due to its scenic location (lake view on a monsoon afternoon as against city center location of Marriott) and also because they offered slightly better rates and value for money in return. Once finalized, we connected with Mr. Rahul Sharma from the Banquet team of Noor-Us-Sabah Palace and explained him all our requirements in detail. He gave complete assurance of a successful party and sent us Menu and cake options. Apparently, the hotel doesnt allow cake to be bought from outside and if you are hosting a party there, you will have to order cake from them. All the communication and discussion were carried out on phone or WhatsApp as we siblings were in Bangalore and Mumbai. We went to the hotel only a day before the event and met Mr. Amit (Mr. Rahul Sharma had to take an unplanned time off, but he ensured that his backup was updated about everything upfront) who showed us the banquet hall and took necessary instructions on the buffet, sitting layout, theme etc. The hotel had also given a couple of references of decorators and photographers upon our request although they have no association with any of them. We finalized one of the photographers whom they had referred and got a good decorator on our own. On the event date, Mr. Rahul took personal care to make all the arrangements and he also welcomed all our guests who arrived before us. He was also tracking our arrival and after we arrived, he took us to the closed banquet hall door while ensuring complete secrecy so that my Mom had no idea that it was a hall (she thought he is guiding us to the restaurant). After he had opened the doors, the room was filled in laughter and celebrations instantly and this was a moment which has been etched in our memories for our lifetime. The lunch service was immaculate, and the vegetarian menu was quite elaborate. It had 4 salads, 2 hot soups, 5 curries, Daal and Kadhi, 2 rice preparations, oriental fare, 4 types of breads, 4 desserts and condiments. The food was sumptuous and light on stomach. The staff at the banquet hall refilled the buffet in smaller portions but frequently which ensured that food remained hot and fresh throughout. The staff was well groomed and trained as well. Towards the end, there was an impromptu request for tea from the guests and Mr. Rahul instantly agreed and got 25-30 cups of tea prepared in 15-20 mins. This left me mighty impressed with the personal attention and flexibility that the hotel team showcased and for me, it was the USP of NUS Palace banquet team. Not everything was hunky-dory and there are few areas where the hotel can improve as well. Firstly, the Birthday cake which was beautiful in its appearance but not very good to eat. It was too soft, almost soggy, and the fondant was too sticky to anyones liking. As we are forced to get the cake from hotel itself, they need to improve this immediately. The noodle preparation was not great either and appeared under prepared. From the infrastructure side, the hotel entrance is a difficult climb if your guests are elderlies with knee problems. The staircase doesnt have any hand rails to hold. Should be an easy retrofit if they want. These are minor problems but can not be overlooked if the hotel really aspires to be the best. We (and our guests as well) were happy overall, with the hotels banquet team and especially with Mr. Rahul Sharma. They all made our day and the occasion memorable. Thank You team Noor-Us-Sabah Palace!!
