While this is a good place near Hyderabad, we went from our office (Bangalore) for our official offsite. It was just an average place because there is nothing exceptional apart from the fact that you are staying in a cottage in the midst of the nature. The food is not bad but some of the things that disappointed are, there is absolutely no mobile network in and around the cottages, at night it is pitch dark all over except few places (so with kids, I would personally not recommend), no intercom, forget about wifi (can still understand), if you need something you would have to walk to the main office even if it in the middle of the night; nothing great to see in and around from sight seeing. If you are going just to switch off from the day to day mundane life and you are without kids, then this might be a good getaway from Hyderabad

We stayed in black buck resort for on Oct 19 for one night. The biggest advantage of resort is it is just 130 km from Hyderabad and still such a serene location. Resort rooms are facing a beautiful lake. Unfortunately due to lack of rain in region it might dried up soon. Rooms are quite big. Our stay started with Views from room followed by Lunch. Then we went for trek. It was a trek and not walk. It was amazing,. After a tiring trek boating what else you want. some snacks with soup. Day ended with camp fire and dinner. Food was simple, not spicy at all. Next day bird watching and black buck sighting. Yes we saw herd of black buck. a great breakfast. This is how we ended our perfect family outing for a day. JLR is more for Jungle but for this location they should add Heritage Tour. Bidar is more of Heritage location than Jungle. It will be more fun if JLR do it or facilitate it. May be heritage tour and black buck sighting cane be combined.

Having it in radar for close to 5 years, we finally visited it in a group of 8 in Aug. Drive from Hyderabad was a wonderful experience with a small stretch under construction few kms before the resort. Entrance could have been better but the stay was wonderful enough to ignore few misses here and there. Lunch, evening snacks, dinner, breakfast - food was delicious, timely and sufficient. The tours were informative and exciting too. Black buck sighting was awesome, nature walk was good, boat ride was okay, bonfire was superb and the room/balcony view was relaxing. Staying in the lap of nature is always soothing. Plus point waa that there was no TV or phone in the room. If you are going in a group of friends, you will enjoy it the most.

This is an amazing property, an absolute heaven for nature lover like me. Cottages are specious, executive cottages and special cottages have lake-facing balcony. The activities are nice. Bird watching, trekking, boating, star-gazing and black-buck sighting are worth mentioning. Though black-buck sighting gets a bit disappointed because of the concrete wall of the factory in the background but still, there are not many places that offers you the luxury to watch black bucks grazing in herds. The staffs made all the difference! Extremely warm, caring, friendly and courteous, all of them made our stay a special one. A quick getaway from Hyderabad to rejuvenate oneself! Food is average, cleanliness could be improve.

It was our second trip to this resort in less than a year, just a 3 hour beautiful drive from Hyderabad. We reached late and missed some of the fun on our first trip here so we wanted to come back. We are so glad we did. The homely food and the simple yet warm hospitality was what we came back for and they obliged us yet again. It's a great experience for a short holiday. The earnestness of the staff in drawing our attention to the different bird sightings makes it fun even for a not-so-enthusiastic birdwatcher like me. The black buck sightings were amazing. Here are some things that will make your trip memorable, a little preparedness never hurts. - Get here on time. Check in by 12.30 so you're all set for the trekking, black buck sighting and boating schedule. - Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We regretted not wearing trekking shoes even though it's a short trek of about half an hour uphill, the slopes and inclines do get slippery. - Wear full-sleeved t-shirts or tops as the shrubs and the thicket does get in the way quite a bit. A hat/cap may be a good idea. - We regretted not carrying something to put the freshly plucked Jamun fruits. - They have a telescope for star-gazing, we didn't know. Ask and they'll set it up. - If you're a serious birdwatcher, carry your own binoculars. They do have 2-3 of them but if you're there over a weekend, sharing with 8 others won't be much fun. - definitely make time for boating, it was a great experience. Our boat got stuck in the mud and we thought someone would need to come rescue us. Well, the trek guide threw us a wooden pole and we just had to shake the boat free by pressing the pole to the muddy bed of the lake. It was our moment of 'city folks thinking everything is a danger'. But it was great fun. This place is not one of those high-end resorts with swanky rooms and plush furnishing. It's a simple and comfortable accommodation with AC. The bathrooms were clean and with the homely yet tasty food, you might think you are still at home. The staff is not overly eager to please with unnecessary pleasantries. But they're the highlight of this place. You instantly know that they love the birds, the animals and have a sincere appreciation and care for nature. They will welcome you and treat you with the same warmth and care. We can't wait to be back.
