Staff - very friendly; ambience - amazing, in natures lap; rooms - very neat and clean; food - fixed menu, good spread, tasty homely food. All in all a very good experience. Must visit Karnatakas jungle lodges are very well managed!

We visited with family in the month of November. Amazing place. Very quiet and peaceful. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We had requested to arrange for cake and a special dessert for dinner for our cousin and the staff made sure to arrange everything perfectly! The rooms are super clean. The bathroom door was faulty though. We stayed in the executive cottage. The view was awesome, it faced a lake (which is dried up now due to lack of rains). It would have been an amazing sight if the lake had water! But, overall an amazing experience. They have their set of planned activities for the tourists- Bird watching, bonfire, star gazing and a black buck sighting. They were all good. Food was tasty. Not a wide spread you would expect in fine dining restaurants but it was pretty good more like homely food. The staff was very welcoming and arranged everything perfectly. We all enjoyed the stay and a special Thank you to Mr. Sidhappa and Mr. Devaraj for a very warm hospitality. Will definitely visit again!
Amazing Property, Great Staff and A Horrible Experience
by deepanjan31 on
The resort is right next to a lake. We got upgraded to the executive cottage (we booked a normal cottage), as there were no other guests. The cottage (Cottage # 10) was extremely spacious and facing the lake right next to it. Though it had just no water due to less rainfall, but had it been full with water, it would have been an awesome sight. The bathroom door was defective though and it was not getting closed. Cleanliness was never been an issue. The cottage was really clean. The staffs were very courteous and attentive to make sure that they take a very good care of us. A special mention to the naturalist who took us for bird-watching in the morning. His knowledge about birds is quite impressive. However, the reason for my overall rating is an experience which we faced in the evening. Our whole experience was completely screwed up in the evening when a group of men, apparently some local government officials, checked in and they started playing loud music in huge audio speakers along with karaoke songs. We had to leave the bonfire area for this annoying disturbance. Even when we came down to the dining hall, they came over and started creating the same nuisance there too. To our biggest surprise, none of the staffs had the guts to protest this behavior. Even the manager wasn't to be seen anywhere in vicinity during this whole episode. This defeated the whole purpose of being close to nature and against the principle of eco-tourism. This certainly left a real bad taste in our mouth. We had been to several other JLR properties earlier, but nowhere faced this kind of experience.

We had a great experience at the place. The fact that monsoons were at peak made it even awesome. All activities at the resort are fun. We had a 10 month old baby and they made some special arrangements for us to ensure we had maximum comfort. One thing that can be better is upkeep of some of the cottages.
Business trip to Bidar

I traveled on business to Bidar and this was the only good resort which showed up on surfing. On nearing the resort I knew this would be a good stay. Absolutely fascinating place in the middle of nowhere. I do birding so was amazed to find the chirping everywhere. A very well maintained resort with amazing people working here. They are very polite and receptive to all requests. I traveled on all three days with the naturalist at the resort for birdwatching and blackbuck watching. This is part of package of booking and not a penny additional was charged. I will be back on a holiday shortly.
Ask for the lake view rooms.

Executive Cottages are facing the lake

Consider the cottages with lake view, closer to the main office-room 10, 9. These rooms are beautiful with good balcony facing the lake.
