I stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour of Rajasthan in March. It is a lovely heritage hotel, the decor of the rooms are very bright and colourful with beautiful antiques, and a view of the fort. The host and staff were also very friendly and hospitable. The bar is very quirky, full of antiques and paintings, with a very relaxed vibe.

Even though our arrival was announced for the specific time, there was nobody at the reception and we had to comb through the garden to ask the gardener to call someone to give us the key. We were not informed that the hotel restaurant was closed, and again had to roam the place to find someone to confirm our assumption. The bar and cafe were also closed which was left to us to find out. When we went looking for breakfast which was included in our rate, the staff seemed very surprised and came up with a very basic offer. There is huge potential to improve communication. We were aware of it being low season and would have understood that the restaurant cannot be opened for just two people, but they could have informed us proactively. The water in the pool was murky. The hotel with its beautiful garden and 'shabby chic' interior decoration has great potential If the staff showed more hospitality.

This is a delightful royal heritage haveli in beautiful gardens, an oasis in a busy part of the city. We stayed in one of the heritage rooms on the ground floor, beautifully decorated with antiques but from the start it was clear the room hadn't been prepared for visitors; the a/c didn't work, the tea tray was empty except for one dirty saucer and there were no coat-hangers or towels - all minor issues that could have been quickly resolved. However, we had to ask the manager several times before anything happened and the a/c was wasn't fixed that day. As a result we moved to another heritage room for our second night. This was better but the bed was very uncomfortable with an old, thin mattress and worn-out bed coverings. The food in the restaurant at dinner was good but service was patchy. Breakfast was a shambles, not ready on time with a very poor choice and sliced bread straight out of the packet. My wife subsequently suffered from a stomach upset having eaten an under-cooked omelette. On the plus side, the hotel is full of charm and character with a quirky bar full of antiques serving a wide variety of drinks. When we were there is was manned by the owner, Harsh, who was extremely generous with his measures! The place (a few nights before Holi) seemed to be the hub of Bikaner night life! There was also a pleasant coffee shop run by a lady called Ann but unfortunately she was often not around when we wanted to buy something. This place is a missed opportunity - it could be a real gem with a bit more attention to maintenance and service. When we stayed here (in late February) we learnt that the owner had been away for a few weeks and were conscious that he was trying to rectify the shortcomings after he returned. When the cat's away.......!

Our stay was fantastic and this hotel was definitely a highlight of the entire trip! Do not miss the opportunity to experience Bhairon Vilas and the lovely staff! Our room was incredible- so much so that I probably spent too much time in it! Very clean and it felt like home fast. Brimming with exotic antiques and heirlooms! There is a coffee shop on the grounds as well with good cappuccinos and Ann makes some delicious vegan treats! (Im not vegan and I loved them). The owner quickly became a friend and showed us around- taking us to a local antique shop and to a really fantastic restaurant after! I would also highly recommend checking out the bar which is also full of treasures. The rest of the staff was also really great- the front desk attendant went out if his way to help us several times. We were checked on frequently and never felt unattended to!

Lovely hotel, set in a historic haveli. The family still lives in part of the compound, it also has its own family shrine, open to guests. Very friendly host and staff, and interesting interiors, carefully composed by the owner, that breathe the past. A good place to relax and swim in the pool underneath beautiful flowers. The hotel has a restaurant, coffeeshop with delicious pastries.
