had a lovely 2 night stay, everything beautifully "restored" and decorated, ideal setting on the lake with water birds calling, flocks of birds flying overhead, peaceful, lovely staff in the restaurant with excellent food (although rather cold but they did find a heater for us) but all rather unusual in India these days, we were lucky not to have a wedding/1st birthday/ pre wedding party etc with the unbearable loud music into the night that we got night after night in hotels across India, I will never go back to India again, the hotels have turned into party venues with no respect for guests

Gajner palace is the old hunting palace restored in accurate fashion to its former glory. Its evident that the restoration put emphasis on the colonial decoration and interior design. This includes room designs and layouts, sinks etc. The exterior is also restored to give the grandeur this place once enjoyed some good resemblance. Right at arrival you will be greeted with loud chirping from all the birds that are around. There were so many birds around you were almost worried to stand under trees for too long. The trees, some of which are 150 years old, are magnificent. Peacocks are around as well but you may have to venture out a little to see them. A cultural show is offered in the evening. If you have stayed anywhere else in rajasthan it will be the same/very similar. The restaurant prices are expectantly steep given the somewhat remote location. A vegetarian thali is approximately 1100 rupees with soups being around 300 rupees. Soup sizes are pretty large and come in plates as opposed to small bowls. The staff is absolutely amazing and will try to meet your every need. The soups were good and the food can be catered to almost every pellet. Breakfast offered a good spread with good (machine) coffee. I would highly suggest a walk along the water edge. From the hotel you can get out next to the staff cafeteria or the front gate. Along the water edge you can look at the hidden bay. Over the usual birds we saw wild boars, deer, a fox and lots of peacocks. Wifi is week in the rooms especially if your room is away from the reception. It does work in the restaurant. Be sure to check out the roof top as well as the ivory train. We visited here for only one night in january and it does get cold. Staff provide a heater and upon request can provide a second one. They also provide hot water bottles to heat the large beds. However the heaters can only be plugged in at one location and you can not heat the bathroom with it which will get cold in january.

A beautifully nestled heritage property. My complaint - On 4th Jan 2020 evening a DJ party was being organised .With little disregard to resident guests loud music was played till 11 pm. It disturbed my sleep and whole holiday experience. My complaint to manager was overlooked and he had hard time justifying loud blaring music in so called wildlife sanctuary. What is the fun of a holiday if one can not enjoy a good night sleep and more so the hotel manager trying to justify this act . A little concerned note and lowering of music volume was all that was required. I checked out a day earlier wondering if some similar loud gathering was planned next day .

We group of 12 friends are here at this historic palace property. Located next to a Lake with thousands of Birds chirping, it is an ideal destination for for a short or long break. Highly recommended.

While entering to the palace, a nice welcome with flowers given by staff. The fort/palace is well maintained by HRH group. The facilities provided are very good. While visiting there, please try their Lal Maas, its out of the world.
