What's Good: Nice place to stay.. we loved it
by Marco on November 17, 2018
We stayed in room #208 which is in an isolated building just right of the driveway to the hotel. The good : - Very clean; - Good firm bed; - Window that can be open; - Very beautiful hotel, wonderful grounds; - Free Wi-Fi in the Lobby; - Staff very helpful and very friendly; The bad : - No TV; - No Wi-Fi in the room; - No fridge in the room; - A/C wasn't always working well; - No bug net on the window so if you open it you will get visitors! The ugly : - No pressure at all in the shower; - The restaurant of the hotel only serves vegetarian meals. We could not even get eggs for breakfast. - Very limited choice at the restaurant; I am a carnivore and it was really bugging me that I could not get any meat options nor eggs at the restaurant. But that was the only thing that really bothered me at this place. Not having TV or Wi-Fi in the room just gave us some time to relax for real, but a small fridge to keep cold beer would have been nice. And this place is so beautiful that I would have loved to have more time to spend there... If they added meat to their offer! I would recommend this place to everyone that is not addicted to meat like me.

One of the most amazing hotels we ever stayed in. The hotel is a perfect marriage of the Rajasthani grandeur and chic pleasant interiors. As they say the devil is in the details. Attention was given to every single aspect of the hotel right from the entrance, parking, wall painting, decorative pieces, flooring, wall colors, tiles, curtains and it goes on. Nothing is overdone or out of place and makes you wannna give a second look to appreciate the beauty. The courtyard under the sky with the evening music was mesmerizing. Even thought the hotel is 10 odd years old it looks like it was built a few months back due to the extremely clean upkeep. The rooms are very spacious with the perfect beds and modern bathrooms. Staff was extremely friendly and willing to serve you. The food was good but not exceptional. Overall a 6 star rating if i could give for this beauty

We are on a grand round tour in India (met kras) The hotel and all the facilities are perfectly fine and in very good condition! Rooms are clean, hot water not always available. Wi-Fi reception in de lobby is good. However all though the food is lovely it must be said that it's strictly vegetarian only. Beste volgende kras groep, alleen vegetarisch eten en niet alles van de kaart is te bestellen en de prijzen zijn niet in verhouding voor de rest een prima hotel met een charmante uitstraling, warm water .... niet altijd aanwezig. It is a beautiful and cozi and most welcoming place. The pois is: we decided to go downtown for a tour, just as we did at every other towns we have been to, and it was when things got weird. We asked the front desk to assist us calling a tuk-tuk, just as we did at every other town. They insisted on that we should use a taxi, and because there were 4 or 5 of us, they said we should use 2 cars. We insisted on using tuk-tuks, they said there were not one availabe. We googled for tuk-tuk services and made ourserves the call. I stayed behind because I was tired. Well, just after down, the manager started to annoy the tour guide saying we shoul be back before dark. Then, they discovered I was related to the party that went out. They said they were worryed that something might happen to the ladies (all of them are mid-fifty-world-travelled women), and I something did happen, they would have gossip problems and would go out of business. After the ladies arrived, the gentlemen at the front door received them pointing his fingeer at them ans days they shouldhave been back hours earlier, as if there was a curfew! (the hotel rules said nothing about it). the five of us reunited at one separated comunnal room to talk about what happened, and we notived there were staff walking around the windows and the doors, as if they wanted to listen to what we were talking. It was so embarrassing to be put in a sirtuation like that. We were in a tour of 20 people, we did not have any problem nowhere else, Bikaner was one of the last stops after more than ten cities, so we could not be called newbies, despite being western (of multicultural background) ladies.

We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at this hotel. The place is so beautiful and well decorated with glorious art of Bikaner. The room is so spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The food is great " Dahl Puchka" is very delicious..a must to try. I really enjoyed the lively music band in the open air court yard. What impressed us the most is the warmhearted welcome from the kind owner and helpful staff. The owners kindly showed us around the hotel to see the art collections. They are very nice, humble and pleasant to talk with. They also gave us good tips to shop for Indian clothing. We felt like home staying there. I love everything staying at Hotel Gaj Kesri. Bikaner is a very nice, quiet and charming city to stay comparing to other tourist city in Rajasthan and this hotel is a gem of Bikaner. We felt the most pleasant and relaxing here in the whole trip of 14 days.
