Warm welcome with flower necklace. Was a former palace of the royal family. Stayed in an enormous sized suite room with two salons and two double beds, a fridge, even a fire place (for winter). Good air-conditioner. Bathroom with shower in bath, good water pressure and amenities. Quiet at night, had a good night sleep despite of the rather poor mattress (hard foam). Hotel felt to be quite empty, not many guests. Breakfast as well as diner was just OK.

The 5th stop of our tour, after a long drive from Mandawa we approached this royal palace which looked magnificent. However, there was no welcome as we had received previously along our trip. The keys were strewn upon the desk pick your own! We were led to our rooms which were via the indoor swimming pool. The rooms were enormous, ours had an old fireplace, but they lacked character and the bed was so hard and uncomfortable I hardly slept. The indoor pool was huge, we did have a swim before dinner but it was quite cold. We had a late lunch before heading off to the fort, the biriani was very tasty, we asked for the bill as we prefer to pay as we go, we were told verbally but insisted on the bill which then was less than we had been told! very naughty and left a bitter taste. The grounds are amazing, and lots of interesting photos of the royal family, stag heads, etc lining the corridors, but it all felt too big and had no ambiance. No wifi in the rooms you had to sit around reception for a signal. Considering the history and grandeur of this hotel as previous reviews state it needs a refurb and some inspirational management to wow its guests.

This is a grand heritage property that could and should be amazing but it is let down by its staff. The rooms are huge, but faded and tired and could do with some updating and maintenance. Clean enough, but our bathroom was a bit smelly and there seemed to be a water leak (possibly from the toilet?)which didnt help . Breakfast was simple and ordinary, just about adequate, although I didnt fancy any of the hot options which looked like they had been sitting there for hours( we were at the start of service). All staff we encountered were unsmiling and disinterested, particularly disappointing was the welcome(or lack of) at the reception on arrival. Dont expect luxury or friendly service, but do appreciate the historic property.

We were very impressed with the palace building, sadly the management let this hotel down. The bedroom was large but the standard of hygiene was below par and the decor was past its best. However it was the restaurant that really brought down my score. We tried to order from the a la carte menu provided in the room however the restaurant staff informed us that this was not possible & only the buffet was available. It consisted of a poor variety of dishes which looked like they had been reheated more than once. The staff was disinterested and one actually spoke to my friend in such an aggressive manner that another guest sitting nearby was going to intervene! A change of management & staff would be a great starting point to bring this beautiful heritage hotel up to an acceptable standard! I would however recommend the spa which is situated beside the indoor pool. Amazing masseuse!

I stayed here with family during 20-22 june 19. It was truly a lifetime memory which we will cherish of our stay and royal experience at this hotel. We had opted for two rooms which were quite big in size but neat n comfortable. Hotel gives a touch and feel of royal legacy. Pictures , trophies of animals on wall, huge courtyards, big varandhas n gardens make it a true grandeur. Housekeeping, dining n pool are awesome. I experienced first indoor pool of such a big size, which was major attraction and which my kids enjoyed a lot. Amazing staff n services... hats off for management to manage such a huge property so nicely. Thanks to all staff n kudos to them for making this stay a memorable experience. All the best n keep it up..!!
