What's Good: Its the best hotel I could find in Entire Bodhgaya. Very spacious rooms with comforting beds. It was a very good experience staying in Hotel Royal Residency.

What's Good: Room was clean, reasonably well kept. The food quality was good. The front staff was not well informed about what to see in Bodh Gaya, Except for a map there were no brochures or books about Bodh Gaya. Pasricha OS

Convenient location for one night when visiting the temple complex. Room was very large but bed was hard and uncomfortable. No safe in the room. Bathroom average. Surprised to read accounts of amazing food as we were underwhelmed. Buffet dishes at dinner were cold and more or less inedible. Breakfast was one of the worst we have ever experienced in a hotel.(We arrived in the room around 8:30 so it was not at the end of the timings for breakfast.) Dirty tables and basically left over, dried up buffet offering. The only vaguely appetising items were juice(from cartons),bananas and pre packed cakes. Disappointing. Difficult to get a coffee too. So different from our many other enjoyable stays in Indian hotels.

Despite only being a 3 star hotel we were very impressed on our arrival on an overnight stop between Munger and Varanasi. We were greeted with cold towels and lemonade in a bright reception area. Our room was large with a big double bed, small table & chair, a dressing table and chair. The room had a tv (but couldn't get it to work), a fridge and kettle. The bathroom was large with a wc, bath and 'wet room' shower with the usual complementary extras as well as a hairdryer. There was also a small separate wc. Unfortunately the dinner buffet was a let down. Whilst there was a good choice of tasty food it was, at best, just warm. We did sit down at 8.30pm but that shouldn't have made any difference. Breakfast was again varied but offered little for a western diet. Overall a comfortable hotel just 2km from the Mahabodhi temple but not one I would not want to stay at for more than a couple of days due our experience of the restaurant.

I was part of a group. After the temple, we came here for our one night stay. Very clean LARGE rooms, mine even had two toilets and a bath and a shower; so obviously they add beds. The bed itself was large with a running board all around of one foot which looks nice but is uncomfortable to get onto the bed. All the mod cons needed were there. Had dinner. Wide variety of good food as hotel caters to Thai, Japanese and other Asian buddhists. Staff polite and helpful. Hotel owned by an Indian living in Japan and having Indian restaurants there. Do stay here as its close to the temple and its very comfortable.

The hotel located within The Royal Residency hotel, managed by Ashish Singh, is simply outstanding ! A wide range of dishes that will make you mouth water. We ate dinner here six nights in a row (it's that good) and the Afghan Chicken in particular is out-of-this-world delicious.

Stayed 1 night in the triple bed room. Room was very large with adequate amenities. Though the room was old fashioned with dated furniture, beds were clean and wifi strength was okay. Had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant, food was not bad with good service. I've lowered my expectations for the hotel but surprisingly it was better than I thought.
