Surprisingly Good !!

We did not have much expectations before visiting this hotel. But in the end it turned out to be quite nice and above our expectations. Pros : 1. The property is 15 min from Bolpur station. Nearby to the Government Tourist Lodge. 2. Very near to the Visva bharti campus, the main attraction of Santiniketan. Toto stand is nearby. 3. Good thing about the rooms is that though small but they are very tidy. Bathrooms were clean, fitted with all modern amenities like geysar, etc. 4. Food options though limited but tastes good. 5. Service was quick. Cons: 1. Food options are very limited. Though their menu boast of all types of food but I doubt about the reality. This is a budget hotel. So don't expect too much from this, but its good.

We reached in the evening of 2April and stayed there just for a night and left next day at 12pm (check out time). We had booked 3 AC rooms on the ground floor as we were 3 couples and each of the room had AC , geyser, mosquito repellent (good night/ Maxo). Had to ask the room boy to provide water, show us the way to switch on TV, geyser, AC. At night we had dinner in the hall just opposite the rooms, next to the reception. The food was Bengali food like rice, roti, daal, aloo patol , chicken curry, salad etc. Had onion pakodas. We slept well and the double bed is good enough to sleep for 2 adults with 1 child. The lodge is situated inside a lane nearby to other hotels like Rangamati. A little far - The West Bengal tourist lodge is situated. From Bolpur station we came to our lodge by Toto (auto) for Rs 10 per head. The same building has got some office in its 2nd floor. Rooms are available on the ground floor, 1st floor and 3rd floor.

Bad hotel with average service. We stayed there for a night and although the rooms are just about okay, there's only one guy available for service or placing orders. The hotel has poor maintenance and cleanliness. Will not recommend anyone looking for clean and hygienic environment for lodging.
Probation Training trip

food is not at all palatable... besides the rooms are cozy and the staffs are not amiable... But the location is something that may attract tourist as it is situated near rabindra bharati...it is advisable to keep this hotel as your 2nd choice
Just tolerable for a couple of days

Stayed only for two nights in this old but reputed lodge in Bolpur. Conveniently located at a distance of 3 kms from Visvabharati. One can park the car inside, though not much space is available in daytime because a NABARD office is also housed in the same building. There is an A/C room in 2nd floor with TV and hot water facilities but no wardrobe. There is only one plug point in the room making the choice difficult for charging the mobile phone or for putting the mosqito repellant. Staff are quite hospitable and food (mainly Bengali type) are really delicious with reasonable tariffs. Not a bad place for short stay for visitors.
