Located in the Hadoti region of Rajasthan, Bundi is fast becoming an attractive tourist destination, thanks to the magnificent forts and palaces and its close proximity to the Aravalli Range. This prominent little city serves as the administrative headquarters of Bundi District. The city is nicknamed as the 'Blue City' owing to its natural beauty and mind-stilling surroundings. Bundi tourist places are plenty, which casts a spell over the visitors and provides them a memorable experience with its magnificence.
Bundi sightseeing abound in several small attractions. The Taragarh Fort, also called ‘Star Fort’ is one of the most prominent attractions and the biggest fort of the city. Built in 1934 AD, this fort is renowned for its marvelous architecture and a highly venerated painting gallery. Situated adjacent to the Tahargarh Fort, Bundi Palace is another erstwhile place of historic importance that boasts of its long-established murals and frescoes. Among other places to visit in Bundi, Shikar Burj, Phool Sagar and Dabhai Kund are worth seeing. Shikhar Burj, which was earlier a hunting ground for the Maharajas is perfectly placed in the backdrop of a small lake called Jait Sagar. A small garden known as the Terrace garden is set near to the lake which gives an eye-feasting view to every tourist passing by.
Tourists coming to Bundi should not miss to visit the Nawal Sagar, a large man made lake that has a beautiful temple in its centre dedicated to Lord Varuna. The spectacular view of the mirror image of the whole city on the calm and clear water of this lake is a sight to behold for every traveller.
