Warm welcome at Eco lodge after a 10km mostly inclined trek felt heavenly. The tents have comfortable beds and enough warm covers in case temperatures drop. They provided emergency batteries for the night. The food we had was delicious and healthy keeping in mind the physical activity involved while trekking and also high altitude. They provided everything I could possibly think of during my 3nights stay at a basecamp set in between giagantic mountains. We also have a pictureque waterfall to wake up to. Compared to the ill kept hotels I saw along the way up the trek , the tents were nothing far from luxurious. The food was carried up from Govindghat as there is no food supply once you reach basecamp. We even had dessert after all meals. I am impressed. Thanks a lot and do appreciate the effort put in by the team at Eco Lodge to keep us well fed and safe .

Ghangaria is a very small town with few facilities and a few decent hotels. The campsite is based in a beautiful valley, surrounded by huge mountains, lush green landscape, small glaciers and just next to the Kanjilla helipad. It is hard to believe that they had tried to provide so much of comfort at such high-altitude Himalayan valley. The tents were superior, clean, spacious enough to accommodate comfortable beds for two people, attached clean W/C washroom with each tent was a surprise for me. The campsite too was neat and clean though there were many batches that went before us through Great Indian Outdoors. Though we had carried power banks considering the remoteness of the area, there were electricity points in the tent which helped us keep our camera batteries recharged. There was no phone network connectivity, except occasional BSNL coverage. The food served at their dining area was good, with inclusion of some local varieties. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. It is very conveniently located as a base camp to do one day trek to the Valley of Flowers and one day trek to Hemkund Sahib and be back or even explore Ghangaria and nearby areas.

The cottages are around 600 meters before the Ghangaria town. Comfortable, well-equipped with comfortable beds, the camps have adequate lighting. The camps have an attached washroom though you can't take a bath there for obvious reasons but at 3100 meters having that much facilities in itself is exceeding expectations. The eating area is spacious and the food is really very good, but what stands out is the service, you will experience hospitality at its best in the camps. The feeling that you get while sitting in the open area outside the camps and having a hot cup of tea and some hot snacks after a tiring day of trek is beyond words. The entire gang there will be super active to ensure your stay is nothing short of being the best. The camps are a bit short of Ghangaria so you end up walking an extra kilometer since while on trek one day you go to Valley of Flowers and the next day you go to Hemkund Sahib, however, with the kind of view that you have from the camps and the kind of services that they offer it is worth that extra effort. If you are planning this trip through Great Indian Outdoors you need to ask for one of the finest trekker I have been with Govind bhai! He lets you experience your rendezvous with nature first hand with only the restrictions necessary from safety reasons. All in all if you have to chose a place in Ghangaria this has to be on top of your list

We went to Ghangharia in the month of August. We stayed at the HImalayan Eco Lodges campsite. The campsite is about a km before Ghangharia and is at a very peaceful and scenic location compared to the hotels in Changharia town. The camps are comfortable with beds and attached western toilets. Hot water is available on demand. The food is freshly cooked by the cooking staff led by Shahid kapoor and believe me he cooks good stuff. The himalayan eco lodges staff led by Yashpal at the camp site makes every effort to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. Khushal our guide who accompanied us from Auli was helpful and prompt with whatever we asked for. The packed lunch of Biryani which we took to the valley was very tasty. For all the mobile people : You get Idea network near the water tank of the campsite and that is the only place in whole of Ghangharia where we got mobile network. Over all a nice and clean place to stay in Ghangharia.
