We booked to stay at the Hotel Lucky Plaza as we had seen fairly good reviews and at a resonable price. Probably one of the biggest mistakes we have made on our entire trip in india so far! We arrived late and decided we would have some food and go to bed. We opted for a curry of some sort which was pleasant and a bottle of 'mineral water' (On the menu they charge 20rps for a bottle of water and state it as mineral water). Fine. So we reatreated to bed and that was that. After a couple of hours my boyfriend mentioned he was starting to feel very sick and had pains in his stomach. We instantly thought it was the food and understood that he would have to ride it out until he was empty of all the contents he had consumed. He was sick a few times and hadn't been able to sleep all night due to pains in his lower abdomen. As soon as someone was on reception he went to purchase a bottle of water, to his horror the seal was broken on all bottles. After a few moments he asked the man ( different to the one the night before) why were all the seals broken and asked if it was tap water?. Which the guy responded with "yes it is tap water". Horrified as we were never remotely told about this. Obviously as foreigners we can not drink indian tap water. By this point i had started getting stomach cramps myself. When my boyfriend explained that he was ill the guy on reception laughed and refused to acknowledge the situation. We decided as his english wasn't briliant we would speak to the manager. My boyfriend was still feeling very ill so i told him to go back to bed and try and get some rest while i spoke to the manager (the guy from the night before). I found a translating app on the internet and set out to see what on earth was going on. We had previously been quoted 350-400 for our laundry the night before and were told it would be ready in the morning. As i asked about the laundry first, he expalined it was finished and would cost 500rps. He was the person who quoted the price to us the day before. After a few moments of frustrating words back and forth i gave up on the subject, moving onto the tap water. His reply was "but its complimentary water,". For crying out loud!! I explained that if we knew it was tap water we wouldnt have taken it, and that the water on the menu was being sold as mineral water. As i am female he was taking no notice in what i was saying, laughing and was more interested in the money than our health. I asked him as my boyfriend had been ill all night if we could check out a little later as he would need some sleep. He agreed that we could check out at 4pm. So i had to get my ill boyfriend out of bed to come and talk to the imbosile. Very frustrated and extremely tired there were some angry words thown about. They were still asking 500 for our laundry, we were more interested in the bloody water. The cretin got his boss involved and after 10 minutes of explaining, selling tap water as mineral water is absolutely ridiculous and they should be ashamed of themselves. They started talking hindi to each other but we heard the word foreigners many times. The main boss said that check iut was at 12 and we had to keave as there was another booking. Then we really lost our temper as we knew they wanted to just get rid of us now. After a few moments he admitted there was no other booking and we could check out at 4. He went to 400 for the laundry and a forced unconvincing apology was given. Trying to get a sincere apology out of the bunch of morons is like getting blood out of a rock! Literally! They are compulsive liers and should not be running a hospitality business! Absolutely under no circumstances should any foreigner stay here. Worst experience, service and stay we have ever had. A total joke
