Chaukori hill station is located in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. Situated at an elevation of 2010 m above sea level, this place offers magnificent views of the great Himalayan peaks. Chaukori is famed for its tea gardens and religious centres. The pollution free air of the place and its tranquil atmosphere make it ideal for spending vacations. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Chaukori is often thronged by urban-tired souls for rejuvenating themselves. The place is well-connected to different cities of the state, which makes it easily accessible by tourists.
Though tea gardens are the prominent Chaukori attractions, travellers can pay a visit to the ancient temple at Gangolighat. Situated at a distance of 35 km from Chaukori, it is a good place to spend some time amid sacred environment. Tourists can also visit the Patal Bhuvaneshwar Temple that is a renowned religious centre dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva. Situated at a distance of 20 km, this cave temple is visited by thousands of devotees to pay obeisance. The Bagnath Temple, located in Bageshwar, is also popular among religiously inclined tourists. According to a belief, Hindu Lord Shiva, disguised as a tiger or bagh, roamed here.
After completing Chaukori sightseeing, travellers can visit Kausani, a popular hill station located at a distance of 79 km. If time permits, tourists can also plant a visit to Munsiyari to enjoy trekking. Didihat is another worth visiting destination, famous for its rich flora and fauna.
