We are visiting Chennai for a wedding and upon first viewing the hotel is glamorous and opulent. We enjoyed the stay. The amenities are nice. Bathrooms have wonderful features. However, we checked in and the booking was made by the grooms father amongst other bookings. SURPRISE charges on check out. They charged for additional guests while in a single bed room with my wife. She never had meals or any extra features which would perhaps warrant a charge as we were inundated with wedding itinerary plans. I think its petty and certainly something that should be mentioned while checking in. I guess not all hotels care about return visitors. Attention hotel why dont you spare yourself unsatisfied customers by mentioning irregularities with checkin. Would have gotten a 5/5 but you cost yourself 2 with that move.

Everything is good, But the same service can be availed at 3 star hotel as well. Highly priced with average service. Not up to the mark of taj hotels. Restaurant food was good and costly, if we cannot afford we need to walk a long way, we cant find nearby hotels to dine.

It was by sheer chance that I registered for a masterclass with Chef Sujan Mukherjee at Taj Coromandel. Known for its overwhelming hospitality, Taj Coromandel amazed me with the cooking class as well. The beautiful facility and the warm environment imparted by the friendly staff made the class a pleasurable experience. Masterchef Sujan Mukherjee with his team was absolutely wonderful. The class was hands on. Masterchef put us to work explaining various techniques and giving us tips to improve our cooking. It would be unfair if I don't mention about the welcome drink that we were greeted with and then ushered to a table spread with scrumptious snacks to savour. Attending the class gave me absolute joy. I went back to attend three more classes and will definitely go back again.

I highly recommend the Taj. The staff go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. The food, amenities and staff are incredible and you will not need for anything. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel in Chennai, this is the place.

Pros: Neat-Tidy & Cozy, with a good service. Courteous staff. I was actually surprised to see a surround-sound setup with a subwoofer in a hotel. Almost everything was available for daily use. Con: Little pricey though-(on the in-room dining service) The complimentary apples provided were little cheap (not of good quality)
