CherrapunjeeHoliday Resort is a family holiday destination. The resort strives to providethe right ambience for family holidays in the lap of nature. A wonderfulholiday experience for the whole family- magnificent sceneries natural wondersand treks.
Altogether an unbeatable combination. The hillyregion of Cherrapunjee is famed for its rains which it receives eight months ofthe year from March to October. It is a beautiful land where countlesswaterfalls spring up during the monsoons.
The hills are lush green- a feast tothe eyes of a Nature lover. Cherrapunjee Holiday Resort has developed a numberof activities which are exclusive to Meghalaya. In the monsoon, one can trek to theLiving Root Bridges and bathe in waterfalls, mountain streams and cool springs.During the summer one can do many treks around here and take a dip in the pondsin the river bed down in the valley and chat around campfires in the evenings.

This property is located outside of Cherrapunjee - very close to the living root bridges. Despite the distance from the main town, the owners have done a fabulous job of running this place. All amenities are available here. The cooks are trained to cook all kinds of meals. The food is served in the main dining area. There are 3 kinds of rooms - one can choose from these categories. The newer rooms, which are located in the other wings are better and more modern. The owners were very nice and checked on our comforts and needs very frequently. They organised a bonfire and some live music by the local artists as well. Worth a stay here.

We stayed here from 10/26/18- 10/27/18 as part of the tour group 50+ voyagers visit to Megahlaya...has two wings.....We stayed in the new wing....a very clean, spacious and excellent room. Food is good, good customer service. The Orange Roof restaurant is also owned by same management. In the hotel they do serve food. Wi-FI is available. Great place to stay and enjoy. Simple request for hot water Kettle was not complied with. Can't make coffee or tea in the room in the early morning (need to leave early to visit double decker root bridge)

is a family run mid-range resort. When the owner of the resort Mr. Dennis asked us where we were from we said we were from Bangalore (comes out by default even though we have relocated and have been in Pune for over 7 months). Was very surprised to hear Mr. Dennis talking in very chaste Kannada. He told us how he had spent lot of time in Bangalore while he was working in a public sector bank. He also has roots from Karnataka and is now settled in Cheerapunji which impressed us a lot. The resort has employed many local women who put in lot of hard work to serve the guests. This is a no frills resort but the takeaway is Mr. Dennis and his staff put in lot of genuine efforts to take care of the guests. The rooms, food and the views from the resort is very good. The resort also has live music in the evenings (Khasi, Bollywood and English music) by the locals. Since there is not much to do in the evening this live music was a good entertainment for us. Highlight of Cheerapunji Holiday Resort is the hospitality of the Hosts and the staff. Also the views surrounding the resort. We sort of also liked the live singing and performances in the evening by the locals.

An excellent place to stay if you are looking for a quiet and comfortable place. The rooms are simple but sufficiently provided with comforts. The staff is nice especially Florence who managed our entire stay. Being close to the Double Decker Roots Bridge its a conveneint spot to stay if you want to cover the trek as well. Florence did help us with a wonderful guide too for our trek. The food is vegetarian laid out in a buffet system. Non vegetarian is provided at an xtra cost. Denis the owner & his wife attend to the guests like family and its a real treat to hear his own story too. Would go back any day. Absolute value for money. Loved the adopt a child adopt a tree program.

was travelling with my friend and spent 11th and 12th November 2018 here. Our reservations were pretty last moment and I must thank Florence (front desk) for facilitating it.We had to spend one night in a standard room and another in the executive room. The rates were inclusive of breakfast and dinner. Ambience - a very well maintained and clean place with a family atmosphere. One feels very welcome and comfortable here. Cost - Reasonable for the facilities they provide. Food - no complaints. They focus on simple food and non veg food has to be ordered in advance. We had ordered egg pakoras and tea in between which were extremely good. Service - Staff are well trained and courteous.Absolutely no complaints. Connectivity - it takes quite some time to reach as portion of the roads are not in a good condition. There are plenty of interesting signs which the resort has put up along the way.So it's an addition to the wonderful view.I actually could watch the sunset as we approached the resort. The resort is about 5 kms away from the start of the trekking point to the double living root bridge. So it's a good idea to spend the night here if you are planning to do the trek. Cleanliness - Rooms are well maintained and clean. The front office was quick to respond when we called reception. We met Denis sir who was a delight to speak to and an inspiration. He gave us a brief history of the place. We also enquired about a sign we saw at the front office which talked about sponsoring a child and a tree for Rs 100 a month. His idea to take care of future generations is commendable. One can see that he is truly driven by passion to make a positive difference in the region.
