Chikhaldara Hill Station
by ShekharN897 on
Chikhaldara is quiet Hill Station in Satpura ranges. It is the only hill station in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. One can enjoy vistas of deep valleys and majestic trees. Holy river Chandrabhaga originates here. It is also known for Melghat Tiger Project. It is not far from Nagpur City or Amaravati Township. Hotel Harshvardhan is an average hotel. It is nicely decorated in the reception area and dining area with beautiful paintings and statues. However, room decor & fittings, cleanliness and food is average and some times a little below par. The service was also average. Free wifi is patchy and does not work most of the time. Chikhaldara as a destination is worth a visit.
Very good hotel

We a group of 25 friends stayed at this hotel. Nice, clean, adequate size rooms and toilets. This hotel is situated at the lower plateau and does not have great view. It has a L shaped large dining room and they serve good food. They take care of any special request and try to satisfy your gastric needs. They have a large central area where a party/ meet or program can be held. They have a medium size hall too where meeting can be held. The staff is not very well trained but is smiling, cooperative. The owners Mr Shriwardham and Mr Rajwardhan are always there to help and guide about any problem in the hotel or outside. They help to arrange vehicles, transfers, sightseeing in and around Chikhaldara and help arranging treks. They have good knowledge of Melghat area and have many contacts. This hotel offers more than the money you pay.
Good experience - stayed at Hotel Harshawardhan in April 2019!!
by sameerdev on
Chikhaldara is a nice and quite hill station, situated around 100 kms from Amravati, on central railway. It is the only hill station in Vidarbha area of Maharashtra. 4000 ft. above sea level, a part of Satpuda mountian range, this small town with just a population of 5000 people sits at the entrance of 2700 sq.kms. Melghat jungle. Our main objective was jungle safari & birding. April is an off-season here as you will not find many animals during this part of the year. Actual season in mid-June onwards, once monsoon starts. We stayed at Hotel Harshawardhan. Hotel is reasonably priced, offers good food and overall good service. Staff was caring and friendly. Owners stay in same premises, ensuring good maintenance of this property. Arranging for our pick-up to dropping us back at the railway station and ensuring excellent services, credit goes to young entrepreneur Mr. Yash. Mr. Rahul too was very cooperative ensured a comfortable stay. All the Best to Hotel Harshawardhan team!!
Nice place but terrible maintenance.

We travelled to Chikhaldara for a weekend getaway & a friend booked us in hotel Harsh Vardhan for a night. Its a beautifully situated property right at the sunset point.fabulous view from the balcony itself. The rooms were average clean.TV not working (Tata sky recharge not done) geaser not working so no hot water for the cold morning in November end.bed sheets were not clean. The most terrible part of our stay was the food. This resort has another restaurant in the town. we had our lunch there. the food quality was below average. Same cook was serving in the resort too it seems as the experience of dinner & next day breakfast was the same. The service was bad, alu paratha, chicken was made without salt. All the vegetables& mutton were made in same gravy. I strongly recommend that the management should take notice & improve upon the services & especially the food.

I didn't stay in this hotel. I had called them from Nagpur on their number 9405978170 to enquire about the room. They told me that only 4 bedded room is available. Their website doesn't have photos of 4 bedded rooms. So I asked them to share some pics on WhatsApp. They denied. I said how can I book without having a look at the type of room. They simply said "Don't Book". No hospitality and this shows the carelessness about the customer or prospective customer. Later on, when we were in Chikhaldara on 17th August, we were searching for a restaurant to have lunch. Somebody suggested me to visit Harshawardhan. We reached there at 13:30 and their family restaurant was closed. The uninterested man at the reception said the staff is on leave and so the restaurant is closed. Only advantage "Harshawardhan" has is the location, being just at the entry point to Chikhaldara. But the place where stayed i.e. "Shivnandan Resort" was 10 times better than this place, at a cheaper price and at just 2 minutes driving time from Harshawardhan. Overall, this place was not for me.
Choose rooms on higher floors - hotel has lift

Do not go for VIP rooms. The cottages have a great view with balcony.

rooms on the south side are quieter

Ground floor rooms are best...
by vishaltotla on July 27, 2015
Ask for a room on the ground floor. I'm lazy and just preferred it.
