We thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate all the work the resort put into our visit. We would definitely recommend the King and Prince Resort as a great place to come to relax and enjoy ...must visit place in karnataka

Visited with family on 21st to 23rd Jul for 2 nights. We were 8 adults (4 couples) + 1 kid. Booked the entire new bungalow (3 rooms) and 1 room in the british bungalow. The new bungalow is awesome and very aesthaetically done except for the room in the ground floor (walls peeling due to water seepage). PROS: 1) New bungalow is beautiful with all the greenery around. 2 rooms on the top are lovely but 3rd room is quite disappointing (considering the same money, 7k a couple is charged just as the top 2 rooms). 2) Food is home cooked with minimal oil and very tasty. 3) Beautiful 300 acre property and the rains make it even prettier. Sitting by their huge verandahs takes you to a different world. CONS: 1) Very confusing roads till the resort, after crossing the 1st Kimmane gate. We lost 45mins trying to find the resort. Just 1 sign board present at the 1st gate of Kimmane plantation. Definitely need more sign boards till the resort. 2) Service can be improved. Quite lazy people! 3) Food was strictly not allowed inside the new bungalow but ONLY snacks are allowed. Never understood this weird/illogical policy. This policy is not an issue, if its only a couple visiting cos you would prefer to eat on time in their dining area in the british bungalow and retire for the night cos there is nothing else to do, post dark. Since we were a huge family on a relaxed vacation, we wanted to atleast get the dinner served in the new bungalow since we were enjoying and drinking into the night. The timings and the strict food-to-be-served/eaten-only-in-the-british-bungalow was a bit of a spoiler. Dont know, why they have a huge dining table and a very huge table-top counter in the kitchen area, if atleast1 meal is not allowed in the new bungalow. This is a major put down, if visiting with a big family or grp of friends since you donot want to put restrictions in ur timings. We just wanted them to serve dinner in casseroles and leave it in our bungalow and had also asked them to close the kitchen. We had even offered to wash the vessels before sleeping so that it doesnt attract bugs/rodents but in vain. It would be great, if the management can relax this policy for big families/friends grp visiting/staying in the new bungalow. 4) If the owner(s) decides to visit the property with his friends or business clients, while u r staying in the new bungalow, then prepared to be woken up from ur afternoon siesta because he would like to show the rooms to his friends/biz clients. He insisted on waking up my folks in 1 room and my sis/her hubby in the other room. My dad was forced to wake up from his afternoon sleep cos the owner wanted to show the rooms to his grp of 4. But after my dad woke up, he decided not to take his friends to the rooms. Finally, he didnt but late realization, i must say! This was a big put-off. Didnt expect this from people who own a 300 acre property. Clearly, money isnt everything. :) I give a 4 for the cons listed.

Had been to this homestay in may and the stay was memorable.....200+acre coffee estate....good and spacious rooms and fantastic food and service. We were there or 2 nights. Our trip was purely for relaxing and we spent 90% of the time in the estate. Good lawn and bonfire area....food- i would say chef does a magic:) very homely and variety dishes were prepared....i would love to visit this place again.....

It was a very long time since we 9 cousins who are all settled in different cities of the world met each-other and hence we planned a memorable get-together at a memorable place. This estate was suggested by a friend and the reviews were good. Hence planned for the same. The drive to this place itself is a beauty, the main gate of the estate is a good 10 min drive from the home stay. The sheer beauty of the place and the modern bungalow blew us away. The place is massive; there are 2 bungalows as an option to stay, British era bungalow and a modern bungalow, and are at the center of approx. 330 acres of coffee plantation, a good view from all the sides of the bungalow is assured, cool fresh air blowing from every window/door, massive bathrooms with huge (literally huge) windows facing the hills to ensure u have a good view even while in the restroom. Antiques decors the bungalow, 3 massive bedrooms, bathrooms are definitely the highlight here. Food was served at the British era bungalow, a 5 min downhill walk from the modern bungalow; hot, homely and tasty, there wasn't a dish served that was average in taste. A evening walk in the estate and paddle boating at a pond within the estate made our evening well spent. They take you on early morning walks within the estate if you are an early riser. Bonfire is setup in front of the old bungalow in the night where snacks, soft drinks and barbecue chicken is served. Since we cousins wanted to be by ourselves (as we had a lot to talk of good old days) we asked them to setup a bonfire in front of the modern bungalow too and they obliged. The service was good, they obliged on every request of ours, be it setting up the bonfire in the place we requested or setting up beds in the Main Hall where we could just lie on and talk all night. The nights turn very cold, warn clothing must be carried. A very good place and a good experience for the price, a place I would like to visit over again. A must go if u have a gang of at-least 8 !!
