Ive visited the place in first week of July which is the starting of monsoon. Its a wonderful weekend gateway from Bangalore, just about 300kms. Stay under the cloud and just enjoy the nature. Homestay is clean and everything is in correct place, just what a person need.

We 3 friends were on an unplanned trip and happened to get the details of JRC over online search. We were pleasantly surprised by the location, ambiance which was deep inside coffee estate and very close to river. The place, people, hospitality and food made our trip even better and memorable. Thanks to Nakul, Arjun and family for attending to our each and every requirement in time. Special thanks to Bharat, Raqibul and cook for making our stay comfortable. Played slush volley ball, swimming in river, night campfire during chilled dec nights and a great trek to Yettina Bhuja. Last but not the least Whisper and Jango, very friendly pets.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a very good time. It's located amidst nature with lots of plantation within the property. The best thing about the stay is the hospitality extended by Nakul. Right from the time of the booking and throughout your stay he can go till any extent for making your stay comfortable. The package comes along with a trek and visit to nearby places(waterfall/viewpoint) - We liked it as you really don't need to think what are you going to do whole day out there. There's a river(Japavathi River) flowing through the property. Camp fire is also setup as a part of your stay package. There are two super friendly dogs, and you are definitely going to miss them after you return. The food, particularly the breakfast was very tasty. Homemade fig jam was made available during breakfast. Nakul was very friendly and we spoke a lot on lot of things and about the place. There is only one area which I feel should be reconsidered for a better experience. As of now there are four rooms in the central part with two adjacent rooms on each side. Currently for upto 5 people one room is given. With this setup a you can end up in being surrounded by loud neighbours at times. I feel it would be great if at least two rooms may be given to each groups so the adjacent rooms are with the same groups(one has to take either 2 or 4 rooms). This also guarantees that the property is not overcrowded by too many groups. That being said Nakul was really helpful in this regard as well and he provided us with another room that was secluded and peaceful. I would definitely like to come back.

First of all, the Hosts are very good, Nakul and Darshan, Polite and very helpful. They will assist you during your entire stay. There are 2 friendly dogs , Casper and Django both will accompany you everywhere even in river and mud volleyball. Django loves to play with the cricket ball. The rooms are comfortable, don't expect luxury. The Food was very good. though limited options but quality was good, you will get a traditional taste. Activities include cricket, badminton, mud volleyball, Swimming in the river, Trekking. Night time, camp fire and music system is provided. They provide home made red wine with an extra cost. The few things which I dint like are, the beds are bit small, limited options in veg and egg dishes. Over all A very good experience, Thanks Nakul and Darshan.

Japavathi resort is one of the good and safe resorts of Sakleshpur. You can also visit quite a few nearby places. We four friends, all ladies, visited this resort and it was a very safe stay. This resort is 40 kms away from main town Sakleshpur and Nakul (the owner of resort) had arranged for a taxi to reach the resort. He also arranged for a quick return taxi when we came to know our bus timings was changed at last minute. Thanks Nakul for the hassle-free transport arrangements. Rooms were simple with traditional Mangalore roof tiles. Food was good and home like made in malnad style. Best thing was home-made fig jam. It can be bought at the resort. Apart from regular games, visitors can also indulge in Mud Slush Volley Ball ,river camping, camp fire. Django and Casper are the estate dogs - very friendly and they accompanied in all our activities. Two treks were included in the package: 1. Kalabhairaveshwara Point 2. Ethina Bhuja Since our stay was for two days and as it was raining, we went to near-by trekking point Kalabhairaveshwara. I have to mention Nakul here for his concern towards environment, whenever he goes to trek, he collects all the plastics and other non bio-degradable things thrown out in the hill and bins it wisely. There was also some renovation work going on in the resort to make it more eco-friendly. Hope whoever visits after that will experience a more eco-friendly and wonderful stay here. Transportation Details: Boarded 6 AM bus from Bangalore Reached 11 AM to Sakleshpur (half an hour late than the stipulated time) 40 mins drive from Sakleshpur bus stand to Japavathi River Homestay
