Out of umpteen number of homestays/ hotels available at Chikamagalur, we selected Pavanagana for our stay for two days. We a group of 6 adults and two kids stayed for two nights. We reached there in the night and the drive was little agitating and worrysome. We had to drive through small, winding, narrow roads in the night. The last 10-15 kms is not a merry road with lot of bumps and holes on the road. Finally when we reached Pavanaganga, it was quite comforting to some well built buildings and rooms. It was located in a nice place, had well built buildings and rooms. What is lacking is the service. Generally homestays are run by the owners themselves. Here there were few attendants for cooking, for service etc. But naturally they lack passion, interest in customers. No communication and no empathy. The food is okay sort of thing. They provide reasonable number items but without any affinity nor association. The outdoors of this place is good with lot of open area which one can walk/cycle. A small stream passes by whose sound is so pleasant to hear. Pavanaganga should have taken more care to ensure the guests enjoy the nature much more. There is a small coffee trail, but that could have been done lot better. Some more village walks etc would have been made possible. I would rate this as a Okay sort of place - because when you come so interior and remote, you need to get something extra from nature and from the hosts!.

This is located deep inside greenery of chikmagalur. Own private vehicle is kind of necessity as it is not easily accessible. The path to and from guesthouse is scenic as well. We also saw sambar deer on our way back. Regarding the property, its quite nice. You can go for a trek within the plantation, also rooms are clean, bathrooms have bathtub. Beware of insects though, but since its so deep inside greenery that's sort of expected. Food was excellent. Overall a nice stay, good place to unwind with friends and family.

Was pleasantly surprised to chance upon this property. Very thoughtfully created spaces makes this resort really stand out. The approach road for the final 8 KMs is pretty bad but very much motorable. I did it in my car with ~160mm ground clearance. Does take some finer driving skills though. The resort itself is set in an expansive property and everything is very spacious. Since we were a group of 6 we stayed in a separate section which is large group friendly. Had 2 queen size bunk beds which were massive. There was also a private lap pool for this area. The food was really awesome. Perfect balance of variety and taste. Not too over the top but really nice Malnad cooking. The chappatis were too dry though. Otherwise chef Halappa and his team do a great job. Also a shout out to Alok who manages the logistics of the place and his team of staff who tend to every guest need. The property also has a nice plantation walk which takes one all the way up to a rather nice viewpoint. Great resort; great value.

We traveled as family and friends and it is a beautiful property. They have massive rooms , the single storey section, and dorm too with secluded pool and party area suited for large groups. I loved the place amidst nature and nice walk to see the sunset and sunrise. Great food , good selection in all meals, great taste and hygiene. Onsite pool, basket ball, cycles , board games, badminton etc makes it easy for people to spend time and connect. The care takers and owner ( we did not meet) were receptive, very polite and responsive. The poster beds are good size and room is big enough to fit 4 adults. basic toiletries are provided with towels. Enough parking. Couple of issues that I see is , sometimes it is hard to find someone to help you as property is vast and there isnt a bell / intercom system. Removing footer for dining room wasn't a experience since floor was quite cold and I did not my kid to catch cold. Other than the above our stay was great. The owner was very kind to courier my daughter's tablet which we left behind. The stretch from Holiday home to main road is about 8 kms and is a really bad stretch but it is worth taking it for Pavanganga.

This is one premium property created in the mid of coffee plantation....last stretch of the roads are very bad (around 10+Kms).... But that can be ignored once you reach the place.... Speciality of this property is their staff. Be it the Chef Halappa or the crew headed by Rosy, all of them are professionals in their respective field. Very well maintained and lot of activities for the kids to enjoy. We had been here as a family get together and enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. If you are a foodie, you will love the food prepared by Chef Halappa :) he is a gifted person is all I can say.
