Hospitality, variety of food
by Anitha D on Apr 05,2016
Expected it to be a 100 times better, but ended up experiencing a 1000 times worse service. The facilities provided are painfully scarce. The place is not well maintained.Showers don't shower any water, WiFi shows connectivity failure and does not reach till the rooms, it is only available at the lobby. Hardly any recreational activities and the suggestions to tourist attractions nearby by the resort managers could end up in a mess if followed. Overall a bad experience.(Trainees present during our visit were helpful and did a good job)

Could not met the expectation with the hype created
by Lav P on August 11, 2017
First of all the entry, which could not justify that this is a resort very nasty broken like remain of old house. It is under renovation, and it needs the serious maintenance. Resort area is not so big. View was also not clear obstructed with trees. Rooms given were stinky, bed also looked like old furniture. Towels given were all wet got replaced when I raised complaint, fittings were broken. Finally with so many disappointments later they changed/upgraded room to better one which they call villa cottage and charge 6500 normally was able to sleep comfortable, those were good rooms. They have swimming pool. Only BSNL works there. Positives: Staff was friendly and food was good, they gave jeep person contact for sight seeing. Free wi-fi in cafe area Negatives: The price to expectation is not met. Not all rooms are good, even garden is not maintained entry itself needs renovation. My advise to try to stay in Hornadu where you will get good stay on lower price.
Experience star treatment in a village atmosphere
by Wilson S on July 11, 2017
It was most memorable experience of holiday In South India on beautiful lap of nature. The resort is managed by hotel management graduated couple studied in UK and professionally experimenting in naturally rich place like Kalasa. Worth for the money paid for stay. The finger licking unlimited buffet breakfast, lunch & dinner is simply superb with variety of south & North Indian home made flavored food. You get anything else of your choice on request for a very reasonable price. The atmosphere and rooms are exceptionally different from the stays in city with touch of natural beauty. Depending on choice, the rooms are equipped with AC, fridge and 24 hours hot water supply. They break any rules of timings with a smile on clients request. Once they preserved buffet lunch till 4:30 pm and served dinner at 1:00 am on our request when we were late from sight seeing. The 4 wheel drive vehicle they arranged for sight seeing had given us more excitement than Dubai desert safari as the roads to some destinations were impossible to drive for a normal driver due to heavy rain. Beautifully managed swimming pool and campfire with light music at night under naturally managed space is added attraction. The sound of birds, frogs & forest insects during rainy days of July took me to my childhood days which I missed since decades. The best part of our stay was all our mobiles were stuffed in a bag due to non availability of network and whole family enjoyed talking to each other instead of rubbing our thumbs on screen. We just changed our WhatsApp status to 'in a no network zone' and enjoyed our stay with lots of fun. The management was kind to provide us WiFi for emergency and we could get network at nearby places we visited. Any type of food and travel is arranged by them on prior request as the location is far from major cities. Don't forget to request for local mutton and seafood dishes with prior request. Even my Gulf born teenager children enjoyed the stay and made it a point to visit again and again. In short the place Kalasa is a heaven for those who likes peace of mind and enjoys real natural beauty with lots of forest, mist, clouds, rain, tea n coffee gardens, rivers, water falls, hanging bridges, mountains etc. The Silent Valley Resort is simply a Five star treatment at village atmosphere. You will forget your diet and beware of gaining some pounds with their tasty food and traditional snacks unless you burn calories in swimming pool. Don't visit this place if you are very fond of city life and hate stay with nature.
Ok Ok place
by Kishandvs on May 22, 2017
Got a deal from yatra, booked for 1900 for 1 person per day. The place good for this price. Lunch on arrival day -> Very average ( similar to hostel mess food) Dinner -> Was good, not so exotic but it was pretty good Breakfast -> This is good with many items Campfire -> Good and nicely arranged Place -> Pretty ok ok place, If you are a large group > 15, you can enjoy cricket or volley ball. If you are few people, there is barely anything you can do here. Although the management was cleaning the swimming pool rigoursly in front of us, the water in the swimming pool looked muddy or green. I did not take the risk of swimming here. This place is not suitable for old people as you have to climb a lot of steps up and down from room to dinning hall everytime. We were told carrom bord will be given to room when asked, but we never got it inspite of asking it couple of times. Morning trek to Devi betta was good, its around 1.5 hour hike, this was worth climbing. Overall we liked the hospitality of the staff and the owners. However as they have purchased the resort recently, they are improving their best. Things to imporve: Please have a club house with Table tennis / chess and carrom boards Keep the water in the pool transperent after noon Chapathi was very bad, however night phulka was good Provide intercoms to rooms so ppl can order stuff Provide a toothpaste in room, the liquid soap at room 208 was stinking very bad, dont mix waster with liquid soap. Keep 2 bedsheets, dont try to adjust single bedsheet by laying it horizantally Last but not least, Have some ice creams (I dont mid if its paid)
Relaxing place, very friendly but needs better maintenance
by CSM_28 on May 2, 2017
We stayed at Silent Valley resort between 29th Apr - 1st May. It was one of those long weekends when every place (including this) was completely booked and we got a last minute reservation here. We booked into a cottage. The place is very serene and relaxing. However, the cottages need to be better maintained. The furniture is in a very run down state. The cottage was very spacious but there was no cupboard or table inside the room and only a mirror in the bathroom. These are basic necessities and need to be taken care of. Despite these short falls, we had a good time mainly because of the extremely friendly staff, the swimming pool (small but well-maintained) and the ample space all around. The food was also good.
A nice silent resort
by SanjayJKamath on February 1, 2017
One of the only good resorts at Kudremukh Kalasa Road, has basic good amenities including pool. The Food is nice you can either go for the buffet for 400-500 based on Veg and Non Veg or you can choose the various a la carte which will take a little more time. Staffs are friendly and nice. Good place to relax and spend some time
Villas are better than cottages
by CSM_28 on May 2, 2017
If going with family opt for green triple Villa. Huge porch available to sit and enjoy together
by Merlyn R on November 8, 2016
New villa block might be better. Do not bother going to the older cottages.
by Sanjay P on November 1, 2016
select villa rooms.
by mathew_antony on September 1, 2016
The cottages are near the restaurant where they play music so it gets noisy at times. Villas are quieter.
