It was worth the long journey to this estate. especially if you're looking to escape the mad city work pressure. the long winding road leading to this place itself is relaxing though the roads are a little patchy in a couple of places, but plan on a early morning drive and you will enjoy the cool morning weather. The bungalow lived upto its promises, its neat and clean and gives you a very cosy and homely atmosphere. Food was great, we enjoyed every meal here, and you can't get enough of walking through the coffee estate, it will fill your senses, all the trees and all that nature has to offer. Mrs. Shantha is a good host and takes care of your needs for a comfortable stay.

We were wowed by the raving reviews and decided to spend 2 nights at the cottage outside the bungalow hoping to get more privacy. The cottage itself was really nice - clean, spacious with a separate dining and sitting area with a TV and couch. There was a small trampoline, couple of bicycles (which didnt have brakes btw), some balls, badminton rackets to keep us engaged. Our kid loved running around the place and the TV kept him occupied when he was tired.Looked perfect! The lunch was good but some dishes were way too salty, which they promptly corrected for dinner. All was well until dinner and heres when things went wrong They have some 10 dogs and the cottage is right beside the Dog shed. It was around 10:00 pm when the owner ,Mrs.Shanta arrived and told us that the maids leave at 10:00 so they wont be able to clean the table. AND , they leave the dogs at night so we keep the food inside our room else they would make a mess There was no gate/grill to this sit out area so they kept a makeshift gate at the entrance and gave us a long wooden stick, incase the dogs bothered us! The dogs indeed bothered us, pushing the gate while we were still finishing our dinner. Later that night, the dogs slipped through that gate and started pushing our cottage door disturbing our sleep and scaring our little boy The dogs kept barking the whole night , making our stay worse by the hour Went with high expectations and came back really disappointed. It was one of the lessons learnt that good experience is not guaranteed even if you base your decision on 5 star reviews

Everything about this place is amazing. The estate is huge.. U need atleast a week to explore everything here.Very Humble owners. Mrs shantha will make sure you are enjoying your stay with utmost hospitality and care. Pros: 1. Yummy home cooked food 2. Beautiful nearby spots(Lake, Waterfall, coffee estate) to explore throughout the day. 3. Dnt like to go out, spend time at their property with outdoor/indoor games. 4. The homestay is huge with big rooms and living rooms.very neat and tidy. 5. Above all, Mrs shantha knows how to take care of their guests. Cons: Thinking.. .........Error:404 Not Found Very Important Note: DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAPS to reach the destination. Strictly follow the route given by Mrs Shantha. Google will show you the shortest route from chickmanglur, but its a road to Hell for last 5km.. Follow her route map, you will reach in no time with no hassles. Once again Big thanks to Mrs shantha Nagesh for everything. Would definitely love to visit ... Happy New Year to all..

The place is lovely. To reach there you travel through the plantations and fields, which is a lovely drive. Talk to the owner / organiser to confirm the road to take. There are multiple options of routes from chickmagaluru and only one is shortest and best maintained... We ended up following Google maps and took a difficult Road. The homestay is cozy and well maintained. The meals are nice fresh home cooked food. Do remember to pack some walking shoes... You can keep walking as far as your legs can carry you as the place is really huge. And then get back to have a nice hot meal waiting for you. The sound of small water streams flowing through the plantation make it a walk to remember. I ended up even drinking from a stream as I had forgotten my water bottle. They have their coffee and pepper if you want to buy.... But you have to ask for it. The place offers you a lot of privacy as there is no staff hanging around you... But if you need something ring a bell and you will be attended to. Don't forget to take a book too. It is just the place to put your feet up, read, look at the hills and listen to the birds...
