It was time fr our quarterly outing and i recommended Tiger Ranch with fair expectations set with 7 fellow travellers as i had been there before !! This was my n'th visit here and knew how things work very well. We crossed the Bandipur forest gates at 8:50pm with just 10 minutes to spare fr them to shut till dawn next day ... the last 1.5 - 2 kms was adventurous with no lights in sight fr most time and we drove with utmost caution ...what we didn"t want was a flat tyre or a damaged chassis We reached the Ranch at 9:15 pm and we were given the so called "suites" one each fr the men and the ladies, i did notice plenty of changes in the premises however was in no mind to assess at that time. The dinner was ready however we were in no mood to have any as we had just grabbed some tasty parotas at a kerala style hotel in Gundlupet, we asked them to pack it and continued with the rest of the nite around the camp fire.We had our dinner late nite though. It was in the morning that i noticed the whole lot of Bamboo trees in and around were gone !!! The staff informed that they were aged and were wiped out of natural reasons and so did the pet Dogs of the premises, there were now 3-4 Dogs gaurding the place compared to 18 - 20 - before 5-6 years, It was an usual sight otherwise but was sad to see cultivation and farming had started far off the Ranch near Mangala village which otherwise used to look like forest land before, The rooms / cottages are for people who want to experience what staying in the wild is, it is a super luxury for those nature enthusiasts who care not about the ceramic floorings, sleep well matresses, airconditioners and what not ! The stars in the dark night, the rays of dawn and dusk , the campfire to ease the chill and friends to talk the nite will make up for most of it !! Enjoyed the experience with the new set of friends visiting for the first time. Pros : Gives a whole day and night fr people to interact and talk to each other ... there's nothing more to do otherwise travelling to nearby places (Madhumalai, ooty, masinagudi) which is the best part !! The package price for vegetarians is Good The overall 'junglee' ambience Availability of packed drinking water at location Campfire for each cottage than a common one Lunch and Dinner when had hot is excellent Areas to improve : Appropriate latches and locks for the door and toilets would be appreciated, not all those who visit here are Men and it will not change the ambience whatsoever. Locks for the door only to protect clothes, valuables ( mobiles, wallets and car keys) and food items from monkeys !!! Non veg items to be included as a part of package if required at additional cost than ala carte serve - it gets quite expensive otherwise $ It's time they make campfire complimentary ... we have been charged for it from donkeys years ... doesn't make someone coming repeatedly feel Good !! Final note : Keep it up ... with minute changes !!

Tiger ranch- we were 11 adults and 4 Kids.. stay was worse and probably I would call it as horrible only. The people over there are so manner-less. They come like rowdies to collect the cash and just barge in to the room without even sensing females are also there .. no matter females or males.. they have to have that common sense to knock the door. The room was full of dust and I would call a Cow cattle would be much better. The bathroom was having a big opening at sides where animals and for that matter human can see the whole bathroom from outside. Night it was so scary where mongoose and wild cats were trying to enter the cottage rather a sheet house with all dusty things where we couldn't sleep properly. Overall doors was not at all safe enough to have the same in the forest venue. One room door was so handy as it came to our hands only and then later we had to fix them to at least prevent some animals coming in. There was no supply of hot water and when it was asked they said it would be chargeable. Post exchange of talks ultimately they didn't charge for the same as their mind started working at that point After some time we did not have water in the flush tank as well. The food served was also tasted by squirrels. No body would take that risk when we go to these places with kids and family Totally the day was ruined. Please look at the pictures for more clarity. I would not recommend this for anyone

We decided to hit this place up for the New Year. The place was jam packed and there were 55 people in total that weekend as per the owner. We were 5 people but allocated a nice cottage with extra beds. The place is situated a couple of kms from the Bandipur main road. The last 1.5 kms to reach the resort is crazy. There is no road to the resort, its just a roller coaster ride. Be careful with your car if it doesn't have high ground clearance. There is empty space all around surrounding the makeshift camp. The good thing is each cottage gets its own campfire instead of single campfire for all the residents. You can chill around with your friends. There are not restrictions on alcohol and smoking, but you have to get your own stuff since its not available at the resort. The owner makes sure the crowd is decently behaved. There is place to play badminton and table tennis. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet is included along with the package and for the price they offer, its a good deal to spend some time with nature and friends. The service can be better though. We were required to call the staff multiple times to get our orders. Good place for a chilled out time with your friends.
