Booked this hotel over Cleartrip with full payment done online. On reaching close to the hotel called them up to get the directions as this place was nowhere on google maps. Even the local people were not sure of its location. Got them over phone and then the ordeal started. I was informed bu the owner that they don't take bookings from cleartrip. She said "I have told these people so many times that remove us from your listing but they don't listen." So I called cleartrip up to check what exactly is going on. When cleartrip called them up they said we cant allow them cause they are couples. I told them who told u we are couples. Then they changed their statement to something random like we allow only family of four or more. And then to we don't have rooms. Luckily for us cleartrip moved us to a better hotel free of charge. This is was the first time I ever faced anything like this.

My friend Karthik's family and my family drove from Bangalore to Tiger Ranch Homestay. Special thanks to Mr Sumanth and his wife for making our stay so special with home made cooked food. This property is located within his coffee estate which is one and half km distance from the main road. Sumanth ensured everything was available to us on time I must say the service provided by him was pretty memorable. Thanks guys keep up the good work.

I am surprised that this place has gotten such poor reviews before. Am glad I didn't read them before booking this homestay. The property is located quite conveniently on the road to from Chikmagalur to Mullayanagiri. There are multiple approaches to the house which is nestled deep within the estate which makes it even better. Depending on the sort of vehicle you are driving, check with the owner Sumanth about the best way to reach the house. The house itself is a typical Malnad house with wooden stairs and sloping roofs. A large clearing in the middle of the estate is where the house sits. We had a lot of fun hiking into the estate and surrounding lands. We came across a brook, a stream, an elephant helping with chopping a tree, a hamlet. The beds are basic but comfortable. There is poor network coverage but that's how we wanted it, far away from the city. Ask for a camp fire to be set up before you reach. Watching the star filled sky and warming yourself around the well set up camp fire is definitely something to try. The food itself, cooked by Sumanth's wife, was brilliant. Generous portions, enough variety each meal to keep all of us satiated. We even thought we might pack some food from there for the trip back to Bangalore. Overall, we enjoyed three brilliant days in and around Tiger Ranch and is a place i strongly recommend. Speaking to Sumanth, i realised some of the previous reviews might be bad because the guests possibly expected something else. The property is tucked away, which is it's USP. If you like quiet and calm, want to hike around, like Malnad style food, don't want hotel like service, then this is the perfect place for you.

Please try avoiding going here. Not at all worth the money. Food is also bad. They just cook something for namesake. Even for sleeping no proper amenities are provided by them. Even you cant find a hotel nearby if you don't like the food.

Decent Food, value for money, cottage can be better maintained and equipped with some games. old house with cosmetic changes. damp smell and fungus formed all over the place, if that's cleared up n painted it will be a good place to spend 2-3 days. very basic however, dont expect any kind of luxory..
