  • Beautiful Guhagar visit with great stay at Riverview resort

by Jbimsomkar on March 12, 2017

Stayed here for a night. Had been here earlier only for lunch. Fantastic place with great hospitality. The pool is great, lots of open spaces and gardens/lawns and a lovely gallery area with lots of games for children and adults too. Simply loved it.

  • Great resort

by KSATHIYAN on February 28, 2017

This is 6th or 7th time I am coming to this resort in last 4 years . The feedback is as follows - ambience - the best thing which rates the resort to its highest rating . You have wonderful view of mountain peaks and Vashisht river flowing in from of you . Highly scenic to watch this all time both morning and evening . For this you should book river facing rooms without fail . - location - it is 7 kms from Chiplun railway station towards mumbai Goa highway . It is recommended for pickup and drop by hotel management only and also negotiate your can packages before you are on board for better deal - reach - recommended to travel by train from mumbai and deport at Chiplun ( 5 hrs journey ) the resort is 10 minutes from Chiplun station . Easiest and fastest way to reach - rooms - the rooms are highly spacious and have big beds , have personal bar , quality tv . However the intercoms are pathetic they should have proper intercom numbering system for easier identification of services . But the response over phone is good system to be in place - bathrooms are good being old property you can't expect posh bathrooms however the shower pressure and hot water don't disappoint you anyway . - restaurant/bar - it is very nice one and close to lawn and view area , they offer quality food absolutely no doubt and customised food can be availed too . - there is a small conference hall also close to restaurant and can be utilised for business purpose - pool - one of the attracting area and it is very big . You get tired completing one lap however it is shallow max 4'6" and kids can have lot of fun . - garden and play area - very good , big neatly maintained and can be utilised for get together and party or even small functions . - gym - it is in the second floor , nice one not crowded . Well maintained - wellness spa - nice one behind pool however I have not used and experienced this time - parking - lot of space for parking nothing to worry on this - there is a small helipad too and it is used by some corporates Overall very good being a old property you should not worry too much about room infra however the ambience takes the full score and it is very calm other than ghat traffic . Good place for weekend chill . Can be booked through all travel portals and suggested for weekend trips for family , couples and even friends

  • Nice break !

We stayed in the resort on our way to Goa, the property was managed by Taj group formerly but now the owners run it. The rooms were clean and spacious, the food was very good and the staff was very helpful and polite. The garden and landscaping is also good.

  • Beautiful Property Amazing View

by AlpanaS on January 30, 2017

This was a Taj group of hotel, however now its no longer Taj. A very nice property to relax. Beautiful gardens, nice swimming pool, spacious rooms. Very clean and well managed. Staff is all local and very helpful. The hotel is 25 years old and it shows, but it has elegance. View from rooms is breathtaking. Good amenities for kids to play. You can also do nature photography - lots of small birds n flowers... Rooms: Nice and clean. spacious. prefer rooms on 1st n 2nd flr as better view. (superior room). They have fridge and kettle for tea/coffee.. some rooms have 2 double beds, some have one double bed. Ours was superior room, nice view. They keep fruits, cookies and 1 mineral water bottle as complimentary. Food: breakfast is very good. Good spread of local food and other standard things a omelette, toast, cereals, muffins etc . (take a package with breakfast included - else very expensive) We had dinner on 1st day, it was in the garden of the restaurant. Very nice ambience. Buffet was delicious and spread was nice. However I would want to eat local cuisine when I go to Konkan and not Continental and Punjabi food.. so decided not to have lunch/dinner in the hotel. Also food is very expensive, we spent 2500 for a dinner for 2 people. If you want to take your meals in this hotel, then go for all meal or single meal inclusive package - its much cheaper. Other options for food nearby: You can try dinner/lunch at adjoining resort - Amraban. They serve home style veg food. Its basic but delicious and economical. We also tried dinner at another places nearby. Dongarmatha - veg and no veg home styled food. Again simple but nice. climbing the steep slope of this resort is a huge huge challenge for a normal car. In both these places you need to call and book the meal. When we were on the way to Guhagar beach, we stopped by at a place called 'Shantai- by the lake'. Amazing food. We also tried much talked about Hotel Abhishek in Chiplun - didn't like at all. Other facilities - Swimming pool - clean, well maintained. Enjoyed a lot with my 3.5 yrs old son. Children's play area - indoor n outdoor - very good. Big lawns also available to play. Wifi - not so reliable. Places around - Go on river cruise on river Vashishthi - to see crocodiles. Parashuram temple - if you have interest in local history or religion. Guhagar beach, Velaneshwar beach - both are nice. There are more places like Jaigadh fort, Hedvi beach and temple but we didnt go there.

  • Room with a balcony with river view

by raghubana on February 15, 2017

  • Rooms on 1,2 flr - superior rooms give good view of the river and sunset. Rooms on ground flr have garden in front (delux room).

by AlpanaS on January 29, 2017

  • All rooms are great. The ones on the first floor would be slightly better for the view.

by Shanmd on January 11, 2017
