The hotel is a Mayura group one and is located just in front of the famous Chitradurga Fort. It has 12 nice rooms (AC and Non AC) which are well furnished. Room and bathrooms are spacious and clean. With a small LCD TV. There is restaurant with vegetarian spread. Car parking is quite spacious. Hotel staff are very friendly and hospitable especially Mr. Sadanand at the reception.

It was a Quick decision from my family to visit Chitradurga and we somehow managed to get a room in this Hotel. Generally people suggest to take this hotel for stay. I just followed the trend. Since it was a weekend and last minute booking I got a huge room with 8 beds since all other rooms wee booked. Location: Just great. Right on the foot of the fort hills. Staff: Very friendly and very supportive. Food: Limited menu(Veg) but enough to satisfy your hunger. I'm sure you'll not complain even though you can expect more. Since the crowd is less, The cook will prepare the food after your order. I would consider this as a plus. Taste wise it was good. Room: 8 bed-room had only beds :).. There was no Cupboards, No Towels, No soap/shampoo etc. Beds were OK. Single toilet and single bathroom. 8 people and single bathroom !!!!!!. Yes. Since we were a family of 3 adults and 2 kids, we could survive the trip with proper planing of morning activities;). But this room costs as much as a double bed non A/C room. This should make you rethink as this would be very economical stay. Since the room is huge, Kids have enough place to run round with also an attached balcony with a great view of the Fort. There are roughly around 10 rooms in this hotel I guess. But A/C Double room was good considering Government run Hotel. It has all the furniture an usual 2 star hotels would have. Personally I would suggest this place to stay as there are no many great hotels in this town. For first time visitors of Chitradurga, Below is the plan I was suggested and I would suggest the same. A 2 day trip. Since Now I'm a resident of Bangalore :) Start early on Saturday(Day 1) and reach Chitradurga before lunch time. Have lunch and relax for few minutes. FYI. No many restaurants past Tumkur till Chitradurga. But roads past Tumkur are just wow!! Start by 2PM and visit Chandravalli caves and roam around - should take you one to two hours. Then visit Murugha Mutt- this place has a huge park with Musical fountain. This should take around 3 to 4 hours depending on groups. Sunday(Day 2): start early to the Fort around 6 AM recommended. This is just to avoid hot sun. Lot of walking and you can get a chance to meet Jyotiraj/Kothi Raja/Indian Spiderman with his show. After fort we had breakfast at Lakshmi Tiffin room(less than a KM from fort) as recommended by friends. Come back to room freshen up; Checkout and leave to VaniVilas Sagara Dam some 1 Hour drive towards Bangalore. After the visit return to Bangalore. Over all. -One day visit can be done but will be very hectic. I would suggest 2 day trip especially if the trip is with family. -Accommodation in Mayura was not disappointing. - Nice weekend get away. Thanks for reading.

Location - 5/5 - its next to the fort, maybe 100-200 mts! Cleanliness - 2.5/5 - bedsheets not so clean, but being a govt run facility cant ask for more! Food - 3/5- limited menu and availability but good in taste AC was not that effective! Would recommend this place only for location.
