I did a 15 day tour with Intrepid and this was 1 of our heritage stays. This was 1 of the most beautiful and tranquil stays on my tour. The grounds and well maintained, stunning and overall a very peaceful environment. India can be so chaotic that even 1 night here felt like a nice recharge. The pool is beautiful and I was lucky to have dinner there. Food was great and eating by the pool under the stars is very memorable. The only down side is the spa. That was actually a huge disappointment. For India, my massage was expensive and not good. I was also not impressed by the facial. I personally do not recommend the spa, I had a much better massage in Udaipur for wayyyyyyyy less money.

On arrival we were 'drummed aboard' and festooned by marigold lais. Check in was swift and uncomplicated and the room, although quite basic, was clean and comfortable. The place is full of little nooks and crannies where you can sit and have a cup of green tea or a drink from the bar. The food in the evening wasn't great to be honest (a buffet with lukewarm offerings) and the service at breakfast was itself lukewarm. However, I got up early in the morning and was the only person to join KP for 90 minutes of bird-watching during which I saw 51 NEW species of bird. This is an out of the way place to stay but worth it and I would return, as would people I travelled with.

Infrastructure: Old townhouse, maintained gives the feeling of old mansion. Big open spaces. Room: spacious and large rooms. Hot and cold water facility. Large windows. Gates don't get fixed after latching. Mattresses are not good. Deck and stationery not in maintained condition. Swimming pool: clean water, marble flooring Food: no nearby restaurants. Meal for two person can cost about 1500 Rs. Taste and quality is average plus. Food service is quiet slow. Services: no concept of room service. No telephone in rooms. We need to shout out some guy to get the things done. All the members were friendly. For water also we need to give a call from first floor. if you are looking for a peaceful outing then a must visit. Recommendation is for feel and ambience. If you are looking for a luxurious stay and treatment, i won't recommend it.

We stayed here for two nights and it was possibly the best hotel we stayed in (out of 12) in terms of character. The room was large and carefully restored to make a comfortable room full of character. The outside space included lots of attractive courtyards, swings, daybeds, gardens and a swimming pool. Evening dinner was served by the pool-lovely! All staff very friendly and helpful.Recommended for a peaceful stay in the countryside with activities such as horse riding, safaris and trekking available if required. Handy for a trip to Chittorgarh.

Spent one night during our driving tour of India. This former family home is quite a spectacular residence with good sized rooms and oodles of character . Our room overlooked the central courtyard and had a huge bathroom with all the amenities one would expect from this class of hotel. It was a pity that the night we stayed they had a very large group staying for a business conference which stretched the staff to near breaking point particularly in the restaurant meaning that we probably enjoyed our stay less than we might have.
