Costa Gama is a beautiful and quiet homestay, perfect for a brief or extended stay in Fort Kochi. It's in a very nice location, just far enough from the hectic Princess tourist street. I've stayed here many times and I can confidently report the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Benson and his family, including his two awesome children Denver and Donavan, are terrific and always helpful and kind. I'll definitely stay again!

Very bad guest house, dirty, not hot water, frequently with no light, closed inside the hotel, they asked a price for laundry and then pretended much more money. bad toilet, the only positive aspect is price

Loved my visit to this home stay. My one night stay because no other hostels were empty took me here. I found a nice cozy room with a fan. It was perfect to spend the night. The stay home has a small kitchen where you can make maggie and eggs.

I stayed in Costa Gama in later December for 3 nights. The location was great, the room was clean and it was very reasonably priced. I also like that there was a little kitchen, so you could make your own breakfast, tea or coffee, very handy. Benson, was very helpful, friendly and efficient. He was always happy to help. The whole staying was very pleasant, hassle free. Ask him about a local eatery which had the best Dosa. He went out of his way to offer me to stay at his home stay when I tried to figure out what I should do to kill 9 hours before my train departure. I highly recommend the place.

We had a mixed experience. The house was in a very safe neighborhood and was reasonably priced. Benson, our host, was very responsive and easy to reach both by e-mail and cell phone. He also went out of his way to make sure we were able to get from the train station to Costa Gama. As we arrived in the middle of the afternoon, he made arrangements for us to catch a wonderful Kathakali performance. And during our stay, we also enjoyed chatting with Benson about different sights in India to reach. Some points to improve on would be to either improve the means of mosquito prevention or lower expectations, e.g., supply mosquito nets or remove the description of mosquito nets from the hostel description. (Unfortunately an extremely persistent mosquito got into our room and was difficult to deter or combat, despite generous application of deet.). We'd also recommend that the hosts better gauge guests' needs or wants before recommending places to eat or to book tickets. In our experience unfortunately, Talk of the Town was not a very good example of Keralan food and a booking company gave us incorrect information about obtaining train tickets, which caused us to lose several hours in transit and waiting in lines as we sought to get tickets that were ultimately not available. The bathing water also seemed to be hot coming from the tap but cold from the shower--so if there was a way to fix that, it would have been nice. It also would have been nice if free filtered water--rather than bottled water for a fee--were provided for guests.
