Joseph and his family are very warm and welcoming people. I had a great stay with my family members including elders. Over all it was a very homely atmosphere. The break fast is delicious with a good combination of authentic Kerala cuisine and basic continental stuff. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable but the beds were a tad too high, especially for older people, but I was fine with it. Joseph also gave us excellent tips on the best spots to see and best deals to enjoy the beautiful scenic paradise called Fort Kochi. He also has an adorable pair of Cockatiels, one that keep whistling delightfully during the day time; the other was unfortunately unwell at the time of our visit. The garden at the centre of the Bungalow was very well designed and sipping tea at the garden is a delightful experience.

I have this place 2 stars because it was clean and safe and in a good location. And quite cheap by Australian prices. The bed was very hard. The toiletries were so sparse and poor as to be irrelevant. We stayed 2 nights and never got hot water.. or warm water.. Only cold. The tv did not pick up any channels at all. The air con only just worked and was very noisy. The hosts provided and offered the bare minimum if that. Breakfast was good but at 8.30. So the day we left we had to leave at 7.30. They said we could not get any breakfast that early. Not even tea or coffee. I would not stay her again. Although the Webb page looks good and is in well written english, no one spoke or understood english well at all. There were many home stays in the area offering much better for the price.

We were a party of 8 and had booked budget, standard and deluxe rooms through booking.com (apparently all that was available) - there was very little difference between them, apart from the price. The deluxe room was larger with a table and chairs (never used!). This was our first stop on our travels and the rooms were lovely, clean and cool. Joseph the host and his family were welcoming and friendly - he gave us lots of tips about where to go. The inner courtyard and seating area is beautiful and the property is very close to everything (you can walk almost everywhere). Would definitely recommend but book direct - you may get a better rate.

Jacob is a good host! The place is kept very well and reconstructed in the old style. Breakfast is home style with adequate personal attention. And conversations thrown in. Room prices need to be checked before booking- we did it on standard hotel booking portals- and lot of difference is there in AC and non AC rooms. Taxes are collected at the location. Car parking could be an issue if you have a vehicle. Location is great! Walking distance from Princess Street!

Situated on a quiet side road a few minutes walk from the Chinese Fishing Nets and the busy sea front, this little gem was a real find. Clean rooms, gallons of hot water and a great breakfast combine to make this a perfect base of operations. Three minutes walk to the Kathakhali theatre and good restaurants.
