Amanvana is a magical place to enjoy a luxurious stay. This luxury spa resort nestled in the heart of a Coorg forest is surrounded by trees, flowers and insect song. It is a green, tranquil haven, home to over seventeen species of birds that have built their nests in the courtyards.
The majestic River Kaveri runs through the resort. Recently, CondeNast Traveller called Amanvana one of the top 10 riverside picnic resorts in India. Other members on the list included Oberoi Wildflower Hall and JW Marriott. One can avail stay at private bungalows on the banks of the river.
Each bungalow is a fine example of understated luxury. There is a private courtyard where you can read or sunbathe beside roses and a lotus pond. At night, the courtyard turns into an enchanting space for conversation under the stars.
Sky-lit bathrooms ensure you have privacy while still maintaining a link to nature. Theres even a special moon light in the ceiling beams of your bedroom to evoke the soft, spectral light of the moon. Enjoy meals at the in-house restaurant, also called The Rainbow Room, so named because beautiful, full rainbows are frequently sighted here during the rainy season.
The cuisine includes traditional Coorg dishes like the legendary pandi curry, continental, American and Indian fare. Surrounding attractions include: elephant washing and feeding at Dubare (9 km), Harangi (5 km), Chikliholle Falls (13 km), Madikeri Fort (28 km), Rajahs Seat (28 km) and Golden Temple (6 km).

What's Good: Booked the resort for 3 days with wife and kid to celebrate my wedding aniiversary. Starting with the accomodation, I would say the best I have stayed so far in my recent past, the tiles are handmade to control your BP and to give relaxation, bathroom was having glass roof and gives a feeling that you are having bath in the middle of the jungle. Room was neat and clean and called room service multiple times and everytime they were bang on time in your service. Resort has several varities of plantation and trees and full of greenry, we were given a paper to spot the birds and write there location to get a certificate and we saw several exotic birds.you can relax and have tea cofee in the reading nook near caveri river bank. As everyone says River walk was amazing, same was my experience, I went with my three years old daughter and the guide (Pramod) was super helpful, carried my daughter all the time, during river walk you will cross river caveri multiple times and walk through the forest area, its quite adventurous. Staff is super polite, smiling and helpful, they know in advance what you need, whether its restaurant, room service, reception , everyone was courteous. They prepared a table for candle light dinner for me and my wife near fire place. Only thing which I found little negative was the food prices, one dish with roti and rice will cost you 1K, so its better to take the buffet Meal plan if you are not going with kid. I would recommned everyone to stay there for at least couple of days and enjoy nature at its best and dont forget to go for bathing elephants at Dubare Elephant Camp, it was really a great experience.

Perfect stay, quite and cozy resort with excellent hospitality. Best time to visit is monsoon or winters when river kaveri has water. They have a nice spa and a very pretty sitting area in the restaurant near the pool. Evening movies in outdoor amphitheater are just awesome.

This place is really beautiful and the staff have really maintained the place very well.. every nook and corner has been made into a scenic spot. Very well designed location i must say. Though the river was dry when we went in first week of March, we did not get bored, or feel there was anything missing.. The cottages are fantastic. The food is just alright. The SPA overall experience is good except that the operators are not too well trained.. When we entered the resort, the reception staff also were also not that warm.. The staff could really be better trained for a place like Amanvana - its like they are doing a job.. mechanically... However, the place itself pulled up our spirits and we had a good time w our friends. Must mention Pintu, at the restaurant was a very helpful and very wellk trained waiter.. Loved interacting with him especially. Go visit the place once for sure. :)

Amanvana is a beautiful resort, with tonnes of leafy cover, well maintained lawns, abundant bird life and large open space. The well appointed bungalows with a sit out and a reading nook provide enough privacy and tranquility. Food is Ok. A better option would be to choose an a - la carte over a buffet menu. The staff are courteous & attentive. The spa however can be avoided. If you are a first timer - then avoid this spa at all costs because you will either hate spa or you may never go back to one ever. If you are a regular then you will know the difference between a good massage and an aggressive rub. The masseuse has no knowledge of simple and basic spa techniques like kneading, effleurage, stretch ..etc. I chose the Anti-Stress spa but it clearly turned out to be a " Stress" spa, with a sore back for a few days. Cleanliness is also a major at the spa. Curtains & Bath tub corners are reeking of mold & mildew. The only good thing was the coffee scrub preparation - it smelt good. But again the massage sorry the aggressive rub killed the experience. Avoid SPA. Enjoy the Resort

Courteous Staff, sumptuous food , good service. Management did help me to change my booking dates, as a special case, which I appreciate. Good Resort to stay if you visit Coorg. Location is good in Kushalnagar about 25 kms from Madikeri.
