BEWARE of this fraud homestay. They offer one rate; and charge much higher rates. They offer certain facilities; which they donot provide. Its a huge coffee estate but still they charges for a cup of coffee. When we talked over the phone, the rates they offered was Rs. 2500 per couple per night, which they said would include all meals. Upon reaching, they intimated that lunch would not be served; only breakfast, evening tea and dinner will be served. That too was ok with us since we were planing to visit different places by the day and surely would have had our lunch outside. But the worst thing happened when they charged Rs. 350 for the dinner and Rs. 20 for each cup of coffee. Whatever we asked for, they denied it saying the hostess had to go to Mangalore for certain reasons and therefore they were unable to provide the same. I wonder why they accepted the booking at the first place, if there were no one to attend to the guests. Most basic things like giving a jug of water in the room or providing hot water for bathing was difficult to get arranged. We forgot to carry some common medicines and when I needed one, I had to drive 17+17Kms to get it, well thats because the hostess was not around. When we called the hostess to discuss the discrepancies of the bill, she talked most rudely and didnt listen to a thing. We finally had to settle the full bill.

The 1st time that I am writing a bad review in trip advisor for any place. Visited this homestay on 11th March 2016 with my friends. We were 3 couples who visited this place, our experience was not at all good. Because of the unexpected behavior from the host. They have a big management problem, which caused us to loss a hefty amount of money. Nothing was organised properly. Neither the home, nor the system. in spite of charging 2500/couple (the meals are included but also not mentioned at the time of booking) , No snacks was provided, even cost for the tea/coffee was also charged separately. The lady of the house was very rude over the phone. (As during our stay she was not present there physically)

Great experience with the Bamboo house. It is located inside a coffee estate which is around 10 Km from Kushalanagar. Don't book this of you don't have a 4 wheeler. The experience is as if you are staying in a jungle. It's a little over priced. Try to negotiate and get the price down by 10-15%. The biggest drawback is the Dinner. The dal is very delicious, but its over priced. Another drawback is that the driver, if you have one, will suffer during the night in the weather, as there are no arrangements for the drivers.

We enjoyed our stay here. The hosts Ashish & Savita were very hospitable, friendly and made us feel at home. The surroundings are peaceful & tranquil...We stayed during the week so we had the entire place to ourselves...Breakfasts are yummy :-) Would definitely recommend you to stay here...

Spent two days at this beautiful place. The hosts are really wonderful & extremely friendly. Mrs Savita Ponnappa is a delight to talk too and Mr Ashish Ponnappa took time off from a very busy tiring day to explain coffee plantation principles. The food is excellent, managed & coordinated by Mrs Savita, Ms Mamtha the cook, makes the most delicious meals. It was like going to a relative's house for a visit than to a stranger's place. It was our first homestay and were apprehensive but the hosts made us comfortable. The estate is quiet, close to the river and one wakes up to bird calls. Set away from the main road, its a perfect place to work quietly or just relax.
