We booked this homestay as part of our coorg trip. One needs to definitely rely on google maps to reach the place or drive slowly looking out for proper sign and landmark indicated by the owner, as there are high chances of missing the entrance leading to it. As the place has many homestays around, the local people (some found on the roads) would seldom know them by their names. The homestay is on the first floor and the ground floor houses the owner. The setup is ideal for a group of friends (6-10) or a family of 3 couples. There are two bedrooms and one of them having an attached bathroom. The rooms were neat and tidy and the atmosphere of red oxide floors, roofs with concrete clay tiles, brick walls painted keeps the surrounding cool and it would remind most of them their great grandmothers homes back in native. The entrance of the homestay includes a decent sit out area which overseas a green plantation, where one could sit back relaxed and converse with the nature, sipping the malnad coffee. The homestay attracts a lot variety of birds in the early morning where you can hear the sweet chirp of their happiness. The owner is very friendly and professional. Post a typical local cuisine breakfast, he would take the group on a small tour of the estate covering coffee, pepper, paddy fields and varieties of flora and a morning walk in these fields lifts up the inner spirit. Being conveniently located, we were able to visit some of the important attractions in the daytime and spent the evenings in the relaxed atmosphere. The homestay is 40 kms away from Bhagamandala and is 10 km to the Raja's seat in the opposite. The lunch and dinner was marvellous given to the fact that it comes directly from the touch of the Owner's homemaker instead of a commercial chef, which adds beauty to the taste and making the local food lip smacking. All in all, we enjoyed blissful moments at this homestay.

Happened to get 3 days mid week leave from work. Planned a bike trip from B'lor to Madikeri(Coorg) n back. This was my first homestay and turned out to be a nice experience. Loctaed around 9 km from the town, Chirpy Blooms offered the tranquility and peace I was looking fwd too. View from the balcony was very scenic, as it encompassed their coffee estate and surrounding hills. The Thimmaiya's turned out to be able host. They could guide me to explore nearby places, local advice which came very handy. Their pet canines 'Julie ' & ' Gippy' became my evening and morning walk partners. All in all it was a nice experience. The place is meant for people who seek silence and little isolation from the hustle bustle of a city life.

My husband and I were looking for a cosy homestay in the heart of Coorg. After much deliberation we chose Chirpy Blooms through extensive search online. Here is our experience: Location: Chirpy Blooms is located about 9kms from Madikeri town. It is a place for those who wish to stay away from the town and main roads, in the lap of nature. We were able to locate it correctly purely with the assistance of Google Maps. Accommodation: Chirpy Blooms is a duplex house where Mr Thimmaiah and his family live below and the upper floor is given to travellers. The place is tastefully done up with red tiles lined with cement that exudes a cosy rustic feel. Tiled roof keeps the place cool. The place is clean and in good condition. You will need to keep in mind that this is a place for those with a genuine love for nature, and those who get hysterical at the sight of insects and spiders might do well to keep away. Facilities: A beautiful balcony provides scenic views of Mr Thimmaiah's thriving garden and the wonderful misty hills in the distance. Hot water is available at all times. The beds are not the most comfortable; though if you have had a long and tiring day you wouldn't even notice. They do provide blankets, though you may want to carry bedsheets of your own to spread under the blankets. The ceiling fan in the room was not working, and we had to ask for a pedestal fan. I was dissatisfied with the lighting in our room as it turned out to be extremely dim at night and early morning. Viewing the mirror was extremely difficult and I had to use the mirror in the bathroom. Food: Easily the best part about the whole stay. Mr Thimmaiah served large portions of hot and wholesome freshly made food cooked by his wife. We were delighted to dig into authentic Coorgi specialties. The quantity of each dish was overwhelming as we forced ourselves to take a bite of each dish despite happily filled bellies. Costs: At Rs. 2,500 per day, the place comes across as a bit expensive. The dinners cost an additional Rs. 250 per person. Verdict: A pleasant stay for those interested in a remote location, away from the raucous cacophony of city life. It will be really difficult if you do not come in a vehicle of your own as it is far from the town and all other places of interest. Chirpy Blooms is a good choice for couples and families. It is a tranquil place buzzing with insects and interesting pets of the Thimmaiahs such as dogs, cats, hens, and a majestic turkey! Suggestions for improvement: A signboard directing the way from the main road. Consider replacing the beds and lighting of the bedroom, and fix the ceiling fan.

I stayed at Chirpy Blooms when I travelled to Coorg recently along with my friends. Situated about 8km from Madikeri, the homestay is in the midst of a 5 acres property and is surrounded by lush greenery. The owner of the place, Mr. Thimmaiah is very courteous and I really loved the hospitality. The place was exactly the way it is in the photos online. We had a lot of plans in Madikeri but we scrapped all of them just to spend time at the homestay which was altogether a soothing experience. The place serves dinner and breakfast and the entire stay is not at all hard on the pockets. The food was very delicious with a lot of variety. The rooms are very tidy and worth the money you pay. The only negative I can think of was that the ceiling fan in one room wasnt working and we had to adjust with a pedestal fan but i guess the issue would be fixed by now. Also, there was no wifi. Overall, it was an excellent stay and I would surely return to this place the next time I visit Coorg.

This was a real homestay!! We had very friendly hosts , the house owner Thimmaiah and wife. The mouth watering Coorg style food which we had was awesome especially the pork ;) And not to forget the all time Chirping sounds , the oranges and greenery all around made us love Coorg.. Thankyou for the lovely homestay.
